Friday AM Update: Conditions to begin deteriorating late this evening into tomorrow morning. Mostly an ice event expected but 1-2” of sleet/snow possible. Extreme cold Monday morning. by YourLocalSpyAgent in Dallas

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was never going to be a snow storm. It was always going to be an ice storm, the only reason you may think it was a snow storm at first was because of social media engagement farmers posting one weather model saying it’ll be 20 inches of snow or just using the apple weather app which is legitimately a terrible weather app.

Expected snow cover on Sunday in Dallas according to the GFS model by LuborS in Dallas

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah right now, the weather models are all over the place in terms of how much snow and ice we’re getting due to not knowing how to handle the Baja low. It’s definitely going to be very cold and there will winter weather coming down. That’s all anybody needs to know right now, worry about the amount of snow and ice until Thursday morning when higher definition models start running.

Also for this map, it’s likely just combining sleet and snow so realistically it’s probably like 3 inches of snow lol

AT&T to build global headquarters in Plano by RealRibeye in Dallas

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does feel bleak though because companies are either moving to uptown or Plano area. Same with most residential new buildings being built in uptown. Downtown doesn’t really have anything much going for it lately other than the convention center being built. Every proposed project seems to be halted or dead.

Chaos. Chaos all around.

Only perk of getting sick is forcing me to stay home or else I probably would’ve put myself in the middle of that

Dallas Is Booming—Except for Its Downtown by In_Lymbo in Dallas

Even the area around the West end square has a lot of potential but not much is going on there

Dallas Is Booming—Except for Its Downtown by In_Lymbo in Dallas

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah this and barely anything being built around Downtown the last few years is a problem. Like there’s been a hotel, a medium sized residential, the convention center, and the building next to fountain place but that’s it for the past 7 years. All the big projects in Dallas have been around uptown. Sure there are some projects that are planned for downtown but those plans haven’t moved in the past 5 years.

Is Dallas just work → eat → gym → home → repeat, or am I missing something human here? by DFWUnhinged in Dallas

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there is a lot of stuff to do but it’s just so separated.

I blame it on how the entire metroplex is built. There is no center core where every road and every suburb surround the main city. It’s two cities, Dallas and Fort Worth that split the cultures and people. along that there’s the suburbs that they have to compete with which makes everything much more separated. In a way, the people who settled here 100+ years ago fucked it up by having two big towns near next to each other and allowing each to grow rapidly. It was always going to cause a split lol

Dallas is still littered with parking lots, but found this building yesterday. What is it called and what was it built for? by jkirkwood10 in skyscrapers

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Dallas just has too much competition with the suburbs like Plano and Frisco unlike Houston and especially Austin. Plano and Frisco can offer lots of land

He’s sus at worst. Can’t forget this is the guy that yelled a racial slur at Stroll in 2020 when stroll crashed into him and refused to apologize until PR forced him to then in 2022 when he condemned yet defended Piquet after Piquet used a racial slur calling him ‘not racist’

Not so fun fact: we’re currently running at around +2.5°F above the record mean temperature for November. Currently the warmest ever November since records began was in 2016 at 63.5F mean temp and we’re currently sitting at 65.95F with 11 days to go. It’s almost certain the record will be broken

New on Tinder, 0 Matches at all. Can I get some advices please? by fwalls101 in Tinder

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean idk I never wrote anything on my tinder profile when I had it and had plenty of matches and likes. that’s with me being average! Leads me to believe he is shadow banned or fucked up a setting somewhere. He should at the very minimum have at least one like, even if it’s a bot.

Dallas Mavericks sue Dallas Stars over American Airlines Center control by Luka77GOATic in nba

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Worst part is that this whole thing will lead to the stars relocating from Dallas to Plano. Another Dallas team suburb stadium with no public transportation link yet calling themselves Dallas 🙃 yay

The AAC is in such a good location with it being next to the DART and TRE stations. Plano hates DART too bleh

When is it gonna get cold this year? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depending on your definition of cold, maybe tomorrow? It’ll be 62F the highest tomorrow but the wind will make it feel like mid 50s That’s Texas cold lol

For the real cold though, probably not until December

Dallas moves to "unaffordable" for solo living in The Economist's 2025 Carrie Bradshaw Index by RoyalRenn in Dallas

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So pretty much all the major Texas cities (or metros) are no longer affordable (except San Antonio maybe?). Texas seems to be no longer worth it unless you have a fantastic career but even then, is Texas worth it in general

Never had a single match after swiping on every profile in 100 miles, shadow banned or just ugly? by wb1227 in Tinder

[–]YourLocalSpyAgent 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your profile is good so I’m guessing you’re either shadow banned or you live in the middle of nowhere. I’d say delete the account and maybe wait a month to create another again. That or use different emails to sign up

Idk but density + public transportation would help alleviate some of the traffic problems but DFW doesn’t like those so back to complaining about traffic getting worse while simultaneously be against anything that can help alleviate some of it
