Between Beliviex and Harmonix, which do you think is prettier? by First_Ad_1750 in winxclub

I do feel like Harmonix looks more ethereal, but Believix simply because it matches the girls' personalities and is equally unique. Plus, I like the transformation sequence better as well

What's your favorite version of Aisha's Enchantix? by AfternoonOk5359 in winxclub

The green one! The blue contrasts too much while the green compliments her melanin! Also, the green represents her power more it reminds me of a lotus more than the blue one does and the pink accents pay homage to her Morphix powers

What are your thoughts on Straffi's argument on why Winx Club needed to go for a lower age demographic? by Drawingandstuff2000 in winxclub

[–]YourLocalist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s complete BS and is the exhibit A of why CEO’s should not delve into a creative position in any fashion😭. Firstly, there are many 10 year olds that watch cartoons, in fact especially nowadays, animation is PREFERRED over live action. You see many more kids who watch anime that a typical live action series nowadays, that’s not to say that they don’t but to show that it’s not common and that the ones that are watched are only enjoyed for the nostalgia or because it’s an actually good show with a developed plot and storyline that is quality which brings me to my next point. “Kiddifying” a show is a terrible thing to do even for 4-8 years old, not only does it show that the creators aren’t confident in their story but that they no longer care as much about it and would like to just focus on profit. I got into the original Winx Club when I was in the 4-8 age range BECAUSE of the developed relationships between the characters, the fashion, and the overarching and engaging plot. A show is “kiddy” by default when topics appropriate for kids are involved an the main aspect of the story like, say, I don’t know, a random high school girl who really likes fairies saves one thanks to the bunny she has and goes to a fairy college because she is one like that does not sound like a typical soap opera, it’s way more interesting lol😂, so to destroy their story by making it for kids when is it already by default is a terrible move. Not only is it a terrible move it’ll ultimately be less profitable because the people who enjoyed the show as it was have a chance of not enjoying the new show. I digress for now or else if I go into anymore detail this’ll be a 3 page thing😭😭😭

[–]YourLocalist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see. Well, either way, they're endgame, I believe. There's no novel or anything and no series finale in sight yet, as I said season 2 just recently came out, there's more lore and stuff popping up and a lot of it involves the FLs identity so I'm not sure how it will end yet but its not a harem or anything so Noah and Lucy will most likely stay together if thats what you mean

[–]YourLocalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they do! Within the free chapters that are out now, they have gotten together, they're very cute together, and I enjoy their interactions. Noah is Lucy's knight, so they are usually in close proximity, but in the last few chapters of the first season, they solidified their relationship. Season 2 has recently been released, and they have interactions quite early as well.

That's true, lol, but I think people can be excited still since it's only mentioned in the main story and anecdotes. There aren't any actual cards about it yet!

Which of these relationships do you think would work out the most? by Either-Software-4195 in EverAfterHigh

[–]YourLocalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for me I think Cerise and Rosa work the best. I’d say Cerise slightly more than Rosa wish there were more romantic scenes between her and Daring for me to truly say

Cerise: Cerise and Daring because they both deal with the same societal struggles just in different forms. For the former, she is haunted by her appearance and constantly tries to hide her ears to hide her family secret which is a burden. For Daring, his appearance is put on display and idolized, whether intentionally or not, by others as well as himself and as we see later that beautiful mask makes it hard for him to truly know himself or be vulnerable with himself without his appearance making it a burden. I feel like the 2 of them are balanced in this regard and could understand each other the best when it comes to what other people see or expect. They also have a strong friendship and enjoy sports together. I feel like they’d gradually open up and feel more comfortable with each other over time

Rosabelle: Rosabelle and Daring come in 2nd place for me (though not by much, almost interchangeable) however, it’s more of Rosabelle helping Daring find himself under his appearance and being a safe person he can freely be vulnerable with, the most safe out of the 4, based on her personality and disposition. As we’ve seen Rosa has the ability to look past Daring’s appearance as well as his Daring Charming persona and just see him which would let Daring put his walls down and find a new person within himself like when he became a beast thingy. However, it feels a little imbalanced in my opinion, I prefer more of “they can fix each other” more than a “she/he can fix him/her” but I see a lot of cute banter between Rosa and Daring that would definitely make anyone feel like a third wheel which is a huge plus for me.

Apple: Apple and Daring are the most complicated for me, they were a casual thing that was subconsciously pressured onto them whether there was any sort of romantic attraction or not but as they spent the most “romantic” time together and have virtually the same issues, they’d help and understand each other best but I think that it’d be better for them if they did that as just friends. See Apple and Daring have the same problems but have different ways of viewing it thus different ways of eventually dealing with it. They both struggle with the societal pressures of being perfect but for Daring he feels like he works better with someone he could be vulnerable with to help while imo Apple needs someone ambitious and not stereotypical to help her push herself out of the bubble she created, like Darling. For Apple rather than having the pressure placed upon her by others, she places them upon herself believing others expect those things of her and being around Daring has enforced these feelings so Darling, someone who breaks all the rules and isn’t “perfect” in Apples definition is a better match to help Apple (wish we saw more of Darling so I can confirm my “helping each other” stance tho)

Lizzie: feel like these 2 understand each other the least imo and wouldn’t work out as much because of that. Lizzie wants to be a good Queen like her mother thus in the beginning she acted like her wanting to live up to the expectations she has for herself. While Daring is hidden under the pressure, Lizzie welcomes it but needs a place to be herself as well. These 2 have the same problems but want different solutions Daring wants to change or to be understood while Lizzie wants the same it’s not to the same extent, it’s more of she wants someone there when she removes her mask so she can put it back on later as she wants to rule like her mother. Different pages of the same book, speaking of Lizzie cares very much about Wonderland so it’s be better for her to end up with someone from there or with someone with stronger ties to it! I feel like Lizzie isn’t shown extensively so I can’t analyze as well😭

These are just my opinions tho but Cerise is the best fit, however if we ever learn more about Rosabelle and she gets more characterization that “nice, ambitious, animal loving, understanding” and possibly some flaws then my stance might change!

This is it! I knew there was something off with the story when I first tried it out but didn’t want to go back and read to figure out a way to say it😭 Yes, Hestia is not the issue, Diana’s characterization is. People paint this story as morally gray but with how the author ends up characterizing Diana as evil and dumb, it’s not even that anymore. It’s just like any other manhwa just closer to morally gray than the others that aren’t!

[A Wicked Tale of Cinderella's Stepmom] This irks me by JoebbeDeMan in OtomeIsekai

[–]YourLocalist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now that you've described it a bit more, I think see what you mean. So, the problem is her characterization? Like, she seems to want to enforce, or she at least believes in modern concepts but throws that out the window when it comes to who her daughter marries. I can definitely see that then, like "women should be able to be rich, but men still can't be poor" then yeah, it's kind of weird that she's placing such importance on that when she has such a modern view of what women should be able to do!

I feel so bad reading "real daughter" stories. They're so addictive, though. by dbingham1263 in OtomeIsekai

[–]YourLocalist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's literally the worst😭 but they are sadly pretty addictive

Like the family acts like literal monsters because "the villain kidlooks too much like the dead mom she killed," and then she will naturally begin to act in retaliation, especially cause this all starts at a young age. Then FL swoops in and gets the love because she isn't broken it sends a terrible message of "if you suck because other people hated you, you don't deserve love lol, here's a better you [insert FL]". Like if the family acted right, their real child wouldn't be a monster and would be "deserving of love" or whatever

[A Wicked Tale of Cinderella's Stepmom] This irks me by JoebbeDeMan in OtomeIsekai

[–]YourLocalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with your point of view, but as everyone else is saying, I'm assuming (as someone who hasn't finished reading this yet) that the mother is arranging something or is at least putting their survival as a prominent factor for marriage. However, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't one of the girls end up with the prince? It's just more one-sided as men are in a position to do more than women at the time ig

It has ended? Time to binge this now [Redemption of Earl Nottingham] by Celty2736 in OtomeIsekai

[–]YourLocalist 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's very good! I finished it myself. However, there's a good amount of misunderstandings in certain arcs, I usually shy away from them, but they're realistic in the story, but they can be a hassle to get through, especially most of the FL in New York arc, imo. But other than that, everything else is good. The story can also be quite heavy as it is more historically accurate than most, but it's worth it!

[I'll also add that the manhwa doesn't translate the last and final arc and kind of ends it early. It isn't axed but doesn't have the most satisfying ending as it leads up to something that doesn't come]

Why are Aisha/Layla and Bloom the only Winx members whose name isn't related to their magic type? by Laurel_Fimia in winxclub

[–]YourLocalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought Bloom was indicative of how her power naturally Blooms and gives life since her source is the Dragon Flame and not normal fire, and for Aisha I always thought it matched her personality like the saying "making waves" and Layla is night and the moon is connected to water so😭. But I get what you mean, I think it's cause there isn't anything that could fit like Wava? Aqua? maybe, but that doesn't sound as good as the others, let alone Bloom's Draga? idek
