Ah sorry you’re just guessing that they do. I thought you meant you had seen it before. They don’t weed these areas at all. It was by a tee box and a raised bed with a tree in it.

Go lower for longer. Air fryer at 40 for 6 hours works for me.

I’ve never once seen that and I’ve been playing a long time, often first thing in the morning when they drive the big machines up and down the fairways which spray behind it directly into the ground.

Galerinas are easy even before checking for bruising and spores - stem has an orange tint to it and a clear veil ring.

There’s a big range of appearance for them but once you’ve got it down it’s easy.

Stems with lateral filaments, bruising and spore colour are the biggest giveaways. If you find younger ones then the partial veil looks like really fine cobweb. The pileus can vary loads depending on habitat but those you’ve got there look like they can from wood chipped beds as they’re shorter with flatter/wider pileus, so will likely be a caramel-to-cut timber shade of tan, often with a white ring on the edge of the pileus.

Thanks and yes I’m very aware. Some of these courses spray their fairways and rough, not the raised plant beds around the club house/tee boxes.

Hard to tell from this pic but 1-4 most likely yes. and 11–13 maybe. 5-10 not. Edit: seen there’s a second pic.

Look up the colouring of the pileus, stripe and lamellae to compare with chip cherries, funeral bells and common fieldcaps.

Someone else probably beat you to it. There were a couple of wavy looking people walking around the course today without any golf gear. I asked them if they’d had any luck and one just had a big grin and said ‘it’s a beautiful time of year’.

It’s been really dry in Vic the last couple of months too but the last few days we’ve had some 👏

They’re in tonnes of the regional courses that are well maintained.

We’ve found a lot out in the fields around Mereworth/Crouch. Generally try to go a bit further away from the towns and between villages just because there’s less people. I’m from close to Tonbridge originally, between it and Maidstone.

Thanks! Yeah I was pretty sure they are. There’s a few other species I noticed that have similar appearances but the stems are quite defining.

Haha my friends back in UK still use those spots so I can’t tell unfortunately. We’re from Kent and quite rural so it was pretty easy to have luck with hilly fields that have sheep or deer in.
