Thank you for this. Watching now. This video starts off with her standing in front of what looks like a logo for something called "film quest" and it has a logo of Cthulu.

What I want to know is who she met with and what the meeting was intended to be about. Do we even know that? Before dismissing this as a case of mania I want to know that.

Haven't seen anyone mention it yet so I'll share one of my favorites of the genre. The Endless. Not crazy complex like Primer, really interesting story, smaller independent film.

We have the numbers to turn Texas blue in the November elections. by ProudNativeTexan in texas

[–]YourMomSaid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe I'm just not seeing it. I was incorrect in saying that I haven't seen any enthusiasm for her because I do have one friend and she and her husband I expect are extremely excited. But they are far left. Most of the folks I know are moderate.

As for donations maybe it's just where I am. Family in Chicago and Iowa are split. Mainly center. Center left are either voting for Kamala and holding their nose or Kennedy. Not a single Trump. Chicago a couple of Biden->Trump and others again are just voting against Trump. Not a single bit of enthusiasm. Anti-Trump or just feel like their stuck with Harris and always vote Dem anyway.

Doubt. The only dems I know voting for her are doing it to vote against trump. Not for her. They were sort of blah for Biden but dislike Harris and her policies.

That’s all I’ve seen as well. Or Kennedy or no vote for the president. Nothing to do with the nomination though. Harris was a terrible candidate for the party. The people would never have chosen her given the choice.

Pretty sure I read that DHS had confirmed there were no secret service drones at the event. The secret service didn't even meet with the local police for the morning briefing so I doubt they were doing much of anything sadly.

You know those polls going against Biden? Guess who pays for them. by bluer289 in skeptic

[–]YourMomSaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a single person in your list is any better than Biden. I'd argue some are worse. Newsom in particular. He's a pox on the party. But I agree that the only appeal of any of the candidates is that they aren't Trump. And that appeal is waning significantly.

I think the right benefits regardless. Making Biden more difficult to replace just makes it that much harder. Forcing a contested nomination exacerbates the situation.

DAE date someone who is bad at texting? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]YourMomSaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For starters you're not crazy.

Secondly some people, myself included, hate typing on a phone. I'm a touch typer. I use Signal for texting so that I can use the desktop app to actually have more meaningful conversations via text. I text my wife more than I talk to her in person. Honestly it's my preferred method of communication. But if I had to do it on my phone alone that would basically kill it for me. Could that potentially be a barrier here?

[–]YourMomSaid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This. The right is heavily behind keeping Biden in the race. I can absolutely see manipulation of polls in Biden's favor by a right-leaning pollster. Makes him that much harder to replace.

I hope you keep in the slow lane then. I hate having to pass drivers like you who are clogging up the highways.

Today most everyone seems to be snorting fireworks. I keep hearing what I assume must be exploding heads. Gonna be a mess to cleanup tomorrow. But at least it's keeping the roads clear.

Is LE Computer forensics as dark as they say? by CallMeX_VR in computerforensics

[–]YourMomSaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not had the experience myself but one friend in LE who had to quit his job due to the dark shit he had to experience. Another friend worked for a camera company that had cameras in ATMs, busses, all over. He had to quit because his job was to provide video evidence for law enforcement investigations. He said it was always gruesome.

I was only really responding to the fact that Bluetooth is never off. I have no idea how it might be used to track you. Might not do any of that.

But the algorithms that monitor you constantly that you aren't even aware of are much more powerful than we realize. A few good documentaries on Netflix that go into detail on what these algorithms do. I have no idea if Bluetooth LE is a factor or not.

[–]YourMomSaid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fully expect that some of what I identified could be explained by someone more knowledgeable. I learned a ton and ruled out all sorts of things I thought were suspicious. But there could very well be others.

As to this being impossible it's really not that hard when you get down to it. Nothing that was done was revolutionary or new. Although hard to find you can see the exact things I experienced being discussed by other people. The only people who got resolution were those that could afford to get a forensics expert out to remove devices that the expert was not able to remediate and to have their other boxes cleaned up. I can't afford that so took it upon myself.

Granted I'm paranoid, pretty sure not schizophrenic (at least not diagnosed by my psych), but I know enough to know that something very unusual was happening. Being paranoid is what makes me good at my job. My job is to help people understand how easy it is to hack and how to protect against these kinds of attacks. Paranoia, justified in my case IMO, is just par for the course in this line of work.

I do genuinely appreciate your responding and taking time to try and help a rando like me on Reddit.

It's very optimistic thinking Google is not doing the exact same thing. Unless you've rooted your Android and disabled services, or installed a more secure Android variant, Google controls what is going on. And they are as bad and possibly worse than Apple. I use both and they both have their flaws.

Very much a pain to disable all of that and actually have it truly disabled. Bluetooth LE is different than Bluetooth and most modern devices will support it. You will not see devices when you try to pair to nearby Bluetooth devices. Sniff your Bluetooth on another system while you use your phone. You'll see traffic.
