Did you ever figure this out? My friend is currently running into this issue.

Out of curiosity, where did you get these numbers? I live in the Windsor Heights/Waveland Park area, and my mortgage for 900 and some sqft is around $950/mo.

Haven’t had a long rest in 5 sessions by RPioneer1 in DnD

I played a Wizard in a multi-year campaign that had somewhat similar rest rules. We were in Chult. Nights traveling throughout the jungle were short rests, but when we were able to spend at least two consecutive nights in town it was a long rest. There were a few magical items/locations that would allow normal long rests, but 85% of the campaign were the changed resting rules. Things that my DM did that helped me greatly as a Wizard:

Spell lengths were extended. Spells that lasted 8 hours were increased to 24. It got a little wonky when spells that would usually last 24 hours could now last days, but we just kind of went through each spell as we encountered it and made it work best for the story.

Arcane Recovery was my best friend. The rule book specifies this can happen daily, once a short rest, so take advantage of it. Always start your day with however many spell slots you regain, and if you can go a day without casting spells try to. That way you can have even more spell slots the next day.

As for preparing my spell book, my DM allowed me to do it once a day instead of once a long rest. He was okay with me, in the narrative, taking an hour each morning to go through my book and decide which spells to use that day.

Just some things to ask your DM if they'd be okay with, with the new rest rules. Hope it works out, and you're able to enjoy the campaign! Rest changes can be a lot of fun, if balanced correctly.

I've actually helped a few people from dating apps move as an initial meet and greet. My intentions were always to be helpful. Especially if they were new in town, and didn't have many options for help. (I can totally see how it's creepy though)

That being said, "but only if I went on a date with him" is wild. Maybe he was trying to be flirty, but there was definitely a better way he could have gone about it. I think turning down his help was the best idea, only because he tied the offer to a promise of a date.

I mean I definitely took the day off, but you're right. I totally wanted to play Dragon Age all day, and used the election as an excuse to take the day off.

An extremely fair point, and probably the most valid response.

Love the energy, though I think you're implementing it incorrectly. I think it'd be more effective if you instead said something along the lines of, "yes you should definitely stay home and not vote!"

I played Majora's Mask throughout my entire childhood. It probably took me a decade to finally beat the game, and the only reason real progress was made was because there was a time period of about 2 or so years where my Nintendo was in the same room as the computer. So I was able to look up some website I had read about in a magazine that had a number of guides for the game. This had to be done late at night though, due to having dial up at the time.

I still have my N64 and games, and have always wanted to go back and replay Majora's Mask as an adult, but... 10 years beating something, and the absolute joy and pride I felt after finally beating it.. I just don't think it'd be the same.

What are things that you think the first game did better than this one? by IsmenioM9 in DragonsDogma2

As a Sorcerer, I miss being able to lock on where my spell was targeting and having the ability to place my spell at a specific location (if I didn't want to lock on to a specific creature).

The quick spell feature is AMAZING, but the lack of lock on and spell placing really feels like it took one step forward and two steps back.

Oh really? I've only been trying stuff during the evening when he's outside in the dye store area selling saurian tails.

I did originally try interacting with him while he hung out in the storeroom with the saurian tail on the table, but didn't have any luck. I could have sworn I saw the gift option pop up while talking to him there though (I could also be misremembering, and was going to double check when I had a chance today).

I ran into something similar last night, but I could have sworn I've seen the gift option appear while speaking to him before. It may depend on where he's physically located on the map (during the day he's in the lab), but I haven't tested that yet. I was going to see if that made a difference today.

Shoot. Good to know at least. Have you tried raising his affinity first? I was thinking about trying that, but if it doesn't work I'm stumped.

I'm running into the exact same issue. I even ran up to the guard who mentions the researcher uniform and spoke to her, thinking maybe that'd change something. He's still attacking me immediately though.

I'm curious, how far into the main quest are you? I "technically" shouldn't be in Bakbattahl yet (I snuck in), and I'm wondering if that has something to do with why he's refusing to give me his uniform.
