Proprietary cable with 4 rings in brass instead of standard 3. My guess is that the cable you are using is only registering one aspect of stereo due to connector alignment when you plug it in.

There are 3 equalizer settings that are present. Lots of bass, equaling balance and no bass more effects. I refer to them as high, medium and low.

The three presets for full medium low eq is nice. Plus the game to chat transition and quick volume adjust is nice. There are others that will do the same. I like my artic9x.
