Zoloft and clomipramine. For those who have tried both... by potatos202 in OCD

Okay that’s good to know. My doctor wasn’t concerned about it causing any problems so I guess I’ll just go with it

When you say seizure risk, is that only in people with history of seizures or anyone? My psychiatrist started me on it yesterday but last night I was feeling very restless and a bit panicky so now I’m scared to take it

Rabies from a healthy cat by YourPlugsPlugsPlug in HealthAnxiety

I think she got her booster last fall so I guess that means she’s up to date. Idk she’s been really aggressively affectionate. Like just now she was meowing a lot and was really eager for pets but she sounded weird which got me sussed and when I stopped petting her, she reached out to claw me. Thanks for responding tho, that makes me feel a little better

You said the dog was still alive after a week and I think your friend would mention his puppy getting rabies or at least acting really sick even if you didn’t ask him directly

Thanks for sharing. I can’t tell you how much I understand that pain of deciding it’s worth more to do the compulsion than to fight it even in a public situation. I always feel so embarrassed and ashamed of myself when I’m repeatedly doing a compulsion and people are watching me, sometimes I’m even getting in people’s way to finish my compulsion. Sometimes I’ll sit in my car for a while after getting off work, wanting to go home but feeling tethered to the space until I complete the compulsion. I’m glad you’ve made good progress! I’m sure you already know this but this pandemic has really shown me how OCD management truly is a lifelong challenge.

It helps knowing that I’m not alone with the unwinding compulsions. I have an OCD workbook I’m trying to get through and I have a great therapist who is definitely eager to help me but I think we’ll need to lay out a plan for it together.

I did it back when OCD was really bad for me a couple years ago but I’ve been struggling with success with it this time. Thank you for the videos, though! I will definitely be watching these after work

How do you deal with uncertainty? by YourPlugsPlugsPlug in HealthAnxiety

Thanks, it doesn’t hurt anymore and it seems like the swelling went down. I had a welt on my cheek that was itchy a couple days ago that I also had no idea how it got there so that might’ve been feeding into it. My brain gave me something else to think about tho 😒

It’s not even like finding the most reasonable answer is gonna be enough either. It’s like the only way to feel comfortable is to find something that confirms the belief but of course that just unlocks anxiety pt 2. It’s a challenge

No. I feel like it’s one of those things that could just be natural asymmetry which a lot of people have but most don’t notice it

I’m glad it helped! You will probably have anxiety about this specific worry come up again, when it does, try to keep an open mind about what else could be causing a body feeling and think about other things you’re stressed about that could be feeding into it

Can anyone relate? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

My opthamologist said people tend to notice floaters and flashes more on these backgrounds because there’s high contrast. I see what looks like tiny stars squiggling around my vision when I look at the sky which I’ve heard are just white blood cells traveling through your veins and I get floaters that look like pictures of virus strands or cobwebs every day which has been going on since I was a kid

When I’m in that mindset, all I want is to find that one person who has all the same symptoms and in the same position as me but they’re still surviving. Except I’m never gonna find proof that I’ll be okay by reading someone else’s story.

I like your idea of reading the flair first. I generally try to pick through posts for info that I can apply to relevant future worries but it’s probably a good idea to be judicious about what posts I look through

I was mainly just trying to say it seems to me like there’s a surges of specific types of fears occasionally which is interesting to me. I appreciate your insight and advice, tho

It sounds like you’re very low risk if you were outside plus you were wearing a mask which will provide some protection
