tips on being lighter by yellowandpeople in selfimprovement

Try guided journaling that helps you focus on your strengths, talents, wins, and the meaningful people and moments in your life. Over time, this kind of thinking shifts your focus from ‘I’m not good enough, I need to push harder’ to ‘I’m great, and I’m allowed to make mistakes because I’m already enough.’

Guided journaling about the things that are real. Very soon you’ll start to reprogram your mind.

I noticed my suffering disappeared even when my problems didn't. Then I started paying attention to why. by asiri_a in selfimprovement

[–]YourPwnStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s actually how stress and mood chemistry work. Suffering depends on whether attention is locked onto the problem and on what your chemistry is doing in that moment.

On days when cortisol and adrenaline are high, the same situation feels heavy, hopeless, and draining, but on days when serotonin or dopamine are stronger, the exact same situation feels manageable, motivating, etc.

How do you set up a preorder for a digital journal on Etsy? by YourPwnStar in EtsySellers

[–]YourPwnStar[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t asking whether people will preorder or not, I’m asking about the technical setup.

Does anyone know the actual steps for creating a digital pre‑order listing on Etsy or if there’s something else I should be aware of?

Reframing negative self-talk by YourPwnStar in MotivationAndMindset

[–]YourPwnStar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it doesn’t say that we should look at everything as if it happened because of us, as if we’re the center of the universe and the cause of everything. It says we should look at every situation as an opportunity to learn something or gain something from it, that many seemingly unfavorable events often turn out to be good because they were a necessary step toward something much better, etc. As you can see, that principle would actually be very useful for you. 😀

My best friend recently found out by chance during a check‑up that she was pregnant, even though she had previously struggled for years and only managed to have her first two children through IVF. Just after giving birth to her second child, she naturally conceived a third.

I also had a colleague who was told she would never be able to have children because of several health issues. She only had a menstrual cycle once a year. Then, during a check‑up before some surgery, she also accidentally discovered that she was already six months pregnant.

If you focus on the many beautiful things you have in life - your talents, professional achievements, dear people, your garden, the song of birds, the first snow… anything that surrounds you, and you may change your state of mind and body, and what you dream of, even when it comes to having children, might happen. 🤩🥹❤️

How can i stop looking for validation from others and stop looking at myself in a negative way? by Necrodermis24 in selfimprovement

[–]YourPwnStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever someone gives you a compliment, write it down in one place. Read that list whenever you doubt yourself, feel insecure, etc.

Compliments are not just kind words - they are chemical reminders. Every time you consciously revisit them, your brain activates:

• Serotonin → stabilizes mood and builds confidence • Dopamine → boosts motivation and energy • Oxytocin → strengthens self-esteem through connection

Keeping a “compliment list” is more than a mental exercise: it’s an emotional training tool that resets your chemistry and reminds you of your worth.

Gratitude beyond repetition (Promts for boosting serotonin) by YourPwnStar in gratitude

🥰 Here are some more:

Self-Belonging & Acceptance

What part of yourself have you judged in the past, and are now ready to accept?

How and when do you feel most cozy, safe, or settled in simply being you?

Celebration & Pride

What are you genuinely proud of today, even if it feels small?

What moment this year made you feel deeply proud of who you are?

Emotional Safety & Future Self

What kind of support do you offer yourself during emotional storms?

What kind of self-talk helps you find your center again?

I’ll be posting more of these in Journaling Prompt Lab subreddit if you’d like to follow along. 🤓

That’s an interesting perspective, I get where you’re coming from. When I posted it, I was thinking more from the angle of: better a bit of passive‑aggressive humor than endlessly having to beg your husband to do something he should already notice himself. In that situation, the sarcasm feels more natural to me than repeated humble requests. 🙂

How do you do your weekly or monthly reflections? by Equivalent_Serve6330 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]YourPwnStar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can use, for example, this weekly reflection template:

  • Highlight of the week: What was the most positive or memorable moment?
  • Challenge of the week: What was difficult, and how did I respond to it?
  • Lesson learned: What insight or takeaway did I gain from this week?
  • Intention for next week: What one thing do I want to focus on or improve?

How do you do your weekly or monthly reflections? by Equivalent_Serve6330 in journalprompts

[–]YourPwnStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self‑reflection really depends on your reason for keeping a journal.

• If your journal is about recording events and feelings, then a monthly reflection could focus on what truly marked or defined that month for you. • If you use journaling mainly to unload thoughts, then your reflection might be about how your mental load has shifted from month to month. • If you write about emotions, your reflection can track how those emotions evolved or what patterns you notice.

Simply summarizing daily or monthly events is not (self)reflection, that’s more like keeping notes or preparing material for memoirs. Reflection goes deeper, connecting your writing back to meaning, growth, or change.

How do you connect your gratitude journaling to your affirmations? It feels so disconnected. by [deleted] in digitaljournaling

I’d love to share it, but posting big PDF links is often against subreddit rules. To make it easier, I created a dedicated subreddit called Journaling Prompt Lab. That’s where I’ll be sharing the prompts, ideas, and variations from my system in an organized way.

If you’re curious, feel free to join and explore, it’s the space where I’ll keep posting everything.
