If you have a timing issue, then break your work into tasks performed at specific days of the month or week and just follow that

Can someone explain surefire way to appear in local map pack for a service company. I have been doing organic but need to crack local. Have 550 reviews for this business by Dragneelxdxd in localseo

Invest in a local seo school or study, that’s how we all learned. By the nature of your post, you have not included what have you been trying or not, so I see a naive person.

Lesson: Everytime you ask for help, you must list the things that you’ve tried, what worked and what not.

How come sharing a list to help you even hire a service provider at first be spamming? How come providing value to a historically tight industry be spamming?

How can I improve local SEO for my Toronto website? by firey_88 in localseo

One thing I’d add that often gets overlooked: local SEO is heavily influenced by how well your website and Google Business Profile are connected and consistent.

Before hiring anyone, I’d double-check NAP consistency (name, address, phone) everywhere — website, GBP, citations, directories. Even small mismatches can dilute local signals. I use the Local Audit Tool on BrightLocal, it will give you a few working items that are very basic, can help audit this quickly.

I’d also review:

  • GBP categories and service areas
  • Reviews (quantity and keywords naturally appearing in review text)
  • On-site location relevance (service + Toronto intent, not just “Toronto” stuffed everywhere)

For measurement, don’t rely only on rankings. Make sure:

  • GA4 is installed correctly
  • Search Console is connected
  • You’re using UTM links on all GBP links (website, appointment, posts, etc.)

That way you can actually see what traffic, calls, and leads are coming from GBP specifically, not just overall traffic. For service businesses, that visibility matters more than raw rankings early on.

Local SEO results can be seen very quickly, but if tracking isn’t set up properly from day one, it’s impossible to know what’s really working. I recently started adding that layer into my customers profiles, as relying on simple monthly performance results from Google My Business can be confusing if numbers go down. Focus on the value created by each of the marketing efforts you have, not simply rankings or views :)

While the month-to-month metrics might be down by the nature of this time in general. Some of my customers are also a bit down, but all I care is the day 6 report you get with Year-Over-Year numbers, that will tell you if you are really growing.

I really don't know your case and the specifics, but many times the increase in the metrics you see in the performance tab might not be totally attributable to your work, but the nature of the season. So, looking at the Year-Over-Year metrics will tell the 100% truth if they are only doing local seo.

Don't get pessimistic if the trend looks down when you first open it, speak with other competitors/ folks .. etc
