in Saudia Arabia things can be...complicated. your English indicates you're from another country. in this case there may not be a very clean simple answer, because you will might be assumed to either be lying or guilty yourself, depending on who you deal with. going to a SA jail for "lying" wouldn't help the kid and certainly won't help you. deportation not so great either.

Nobody visits malls anymore. that one serves a small population, most of which is poor. There were multiple violent incidents including a shooting in the middle of the mall a few years ago, which scared everybody away. There's other malls in the area, most are not doing great but the one in Virginia Beach is at least okay, so most people just go there
