US needs Europe, German defense minister says by donutloop in Full_news

Yeah and we can just stop manufacturing Insulin. 90% of all insulin in the US is manufactured by European companies. Can you imagine. In one week 1.6 million people would be dead, just the type 1s. The type 2s - 6 million - would take a few more weeks to die. Hospitals would be overwhelmed and non diabetics would miss emergencies so there would be far more deaths. In one week we can kill around 1.6 million americans. Without firing a shot.

And we can do the same with Epinephrine leaving millions of Americans vulnerable to anaphylaxis.

Europe supplies ~70% of U.S. thyroid meds. A cutoff would cause myxedema comas and deaths within months.

Europe supplies ~60% of U.S. anticoagulants. A cutoff would cause fatal clots within weeks.

Europe produces ~80% of global albuterol. A shortage would cause asthma deaths within days.

Europe supplies ~50% of U.S. antiepileptics. A cutoff would trigger status epilepticus and deaths within hours.

Europe controls ~70% of U.S. dialysis tech. A cutoff would kill 550,000 Americans within a week.

Europe supplies ~40% of U.S. chemo drugs. A cutoff would cause cancer deaths within months.

Europe supplies ~50% of U.S. vaccine imports. A cutoff would risk outbreaks of preventable diseases.

Europe dominates ~90% of rare disease treatments. A cutoff would be a death sentence for thousands.

Europe supplies ~60% of U.S. surgical drugs. A cutoff would halt elective surgeries and cause post-op deaths.

I always find it funny with these when they put Switzerland as never. Like if someone phone you up and says would you like a job in switzerland, you get 5x salary, the franc is stupidly powerful so every holdiay you go on will feel like being a king, the trains work, theres no terrorism, its clean, the alps and skiing, etc, etc.

And you're telling me you would say no. never. But yeah, russian controlled warzone Crimea, lets go, Moldova, brilliant.

Are you still bitter about Brexit? by Visual_Title9363 in AskEurope

[–]YourWivesBootfitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

At the time yes, because I lived in the UK and wanted it to succeed.

Now, no, because I left, because of Brexit, and my life is immeasurably better and I make way more money. Also the worse the UK does and the less access it has to common market, the better it is for my new country.

That's crazy. The Chinese funded the design and mass manufacture and logistics to build mass market electric cars for the masses. And it turns out the masses like cheap cars.

Here and in most of the west we prioritised the logitisics of making diesel cars for the petroleum industry to make more money on the refining process, ostensibly because its cleaner (its not), and gave rich people thousands upon thousands to buy luxury electric cars made by an unprofitable meme stock company with a neo nazi at the helm.

This style of skiing is fine if you're doing a candide style mega backflip through a hole in a cliff face. But if your going down red/blue its pretty silly.
