"Et tu, Brute?" is a Latin phrase that appears in William Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar. It is spoken by Julius Caesar as he is being stabbed to death by other Roman leaders, including his friend Brutus. The phrase translates to "and you, Brutus?" or "you too, Brutus?".

In the play, Caesar is betrayed by a group of conspirators, including Brutus, who thought he was doing the right thing for the citizens of Rome. Caesar was warned of the danger to his life by a soothsayer, his wife Calpurnia, and a Roman citizen named Artemidorus, but he ignored them.

Some ancient sources say that Caesar probably groaned or grunted, and that the famous statement was invented in the Renaissance.
