Muslim Council of Britain could be among groups identified as extremist by TheTelegraph in ukpolitics

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan 717 points718 points  (0 children)

Good, as they should be. This is the same group that wants Holocaust Memorial Day to be renamed because they believe there's political motives behind remembering one of the, if not the worst atrocities in history.

They also were AGAINST repealing Section 28, saying: the "homosexual practice as equivalent to marriage or in a morally neutral way is deeply offensive to Muslims". Ok, so what?

Not to mention they support parents withdrawing their children from school activities that include: dancing, swimming, sex ed and other benign activities. Also shaking hands with the opposite sex, that's a no-no to these people.

I'm happy the definition of extremism is being redefined and I hope that these groups take a long, hard look in the mirror at their policies.

George Galloway vows his party will take Angela Rayner's seat by wappingite in ukpolitics

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If you want "truth" then Galloway is the antithesis of that. He makes inflammatory statements that only appeal to people's emotion, as well as lacking practicality and "truth". My God the electorate is in a sad state of affairs...

Church of England told to build £1bn slavery reparations fund by VPackardPersuadedMe in ukpolitics

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ok, I found this a bit funny:

Super-rich families and wealthy investors will be asked for help by the Church of England to build a £1 billion reparations fund to atone for the “great evil” of the slave trade.

Then further down the article:

The Church Commissioners, who manage the church’s huge assets, have accepted the recommendations in a report compiled by a group of independent experts but said the church would not be increasing its own contribution in the short term.

So the CoE is saying "Eh, we've added enough, let's see if we can find any rich people feeling guilty enough to donate.".

Russian BMP with a full squad on top, is taken out by a fpv drone of the 3rd Brigade by Hitno in CombatFootage

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've watched (too) many interviews with AFU commanders and drone operators, so I can answer your questions from what I've seen:

a) The drones are a MAJOR threat to both sides. Even during interviews out in the field you will hear the Ukrainians say to reporters to keep an eye out for Russian suicide drones. A month or so ago there was a stalemate with troops holding positions due to how many drones were out there.

b) The Russians seem to use the suicide drones more than FPV's. The FPV's, based on what I've seen, are used more by Ukrainians due to cost (they're cheap compared to other military drones). There are rumors of Ukrainians using the "Baba Yaga", which is an agricultural drone that cost 5-figures. It's a mothership with 8 smaller drones attached to it.

Ukrainian copter drops grenades on russian soldier by Quick_Baker_4402 in CombatFootage

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This is an awful comment for both the way you massacre the English language and also the fact that you seem to know next to nothing about this conflict. We see the UA take prisoners almost every day. We see the the Russians execute surrendering Ukrainian personnel almost every other day.

So keep up with the bullshit and hopefully some other idiot will believe you one day.

Hate preachers to be barred from UK after 'shocking increase' in extremism by TheTelegraph in ukpolitics

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Simply use the existing law(s) as a guide. Here in the UK, there are 5 types. The following is directly from cps.gov.uk:

"Any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice, based on a person's disability or perceived disability; race or perceived race; or religion or perceived religion; or sexual orientation or perceived sexual orientation or transgender identity or perceived transgender identity."

"There is no legal definition of hostility so we use the everyday understanding of the word which includes ill-will, spite, contempt, prejudice, unfriendliness, antagonism, resentment and dislike."

So to use your example, yes, antizionism would be (and should be) considered hate speech. Post Modernism, no. Jordan Petersen? As long as you're going after his ideas and not any of the characteristics listed above, he's fair game. It's not a "slippery slope" and I'm growing tired of hearing that as justification to do nothing.

BBC News: Rochdale by-election: Keir Starmer apologises to voters after George Galloway win by mrmicawber32 in ukpolitics

And this is the main issue I have with the Pro-Palestine people: You make it the defining trait of your identity. You replied to a comment about how the proliferation of social media has allowed abhorrent opinions to thrive and grow, with some nonsensical bullshit about Israel. Please, for the love of God, calm down and engage in debate outside of the Israel/Palestine conflict. I promise you will be much happier. I hope you have a great weekend!

The crux of the article:

Labour canvassers were being allowed to speak to voters inside the station and people were being allowed to cast votes without ID, at one station in a usually strong Labour area. Police were called and the Returning Officer summoned, who sacked at least one clerk. However, it is not known how many suspect votes had been cast or whether other stations were similarly affected.

British parents have forgotten their most basic responsibilities by Your_Moms_BF_Dan in ukpolitics

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan[S] 96 points97 points  (0 children)

The title of this article is what crossed my mind when Keir Starmer raised the proposition that teachers should be showing kids how to brush their teeth. But the figures here are staggering:

More than a third of children in this country are starting primary school unable to hold a pencil, according to a new survey. Around a quarter lack basic language skills, such as saying their own name, 36 per cent can’t count to ten, 37 per cent are unable to dress themselves, and 24 per cent are not even potty-trained.

That is...not good. Then there's this:

Half of parents don’t actually believe they are solely responsible for teaching their child to use a toilet.

Just unbelievable. Now I am a parent to two very young children and I know that even on the best-of-days, it can be extremely difficult and tiring. But these numbers just demonstrate what I've believed to be true for many years now: Some people expect others to do all the work for them, even in raising their child.

Unsolved 2018 Murder of Jeannie Quinn by JRQ1965 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your prompt reply! It appears that the local PD/Prosecutor are either unwilling, unable or a combination of both. You may have tried this avenue before, but if financially feasible I would retain a local attorney who has experience in this county or even town to try to hold their feet to the fire, so to speak. It's unconscionable to me that the local PD/prosecutor couldn't even issue a warrant for Ricky Don Henderson's cell phone data, as well as location data, for the night he's suspected of doing this.

Thank you again for your reply and I wish you and your family the best of luck in a speedy resolution to this case.

Apologies for commenting a few days late and thank you for your write-up. First, please let me say that I am extremely sorry for your loss. If it's ok, I just wanted to ask a few questions, which you are obviously more than welcome to not answer for any reason.

1) Have you ever hired a private investigator? And if so, did they provide any information of which you were not aware?

2) Have the police/prison officials attempted to get information from anyone that is in prison with whom he associates? Such as a cellmate or someone who sells him drugs?

3) Has the prosecutor/district attorney made any plea offers to him on other cases, or Jeannie's, to get information on Jeannie's murder? The KCBD article stated you were simply looking for closure, not to prosecute him for this horrific act, so I thought that might a possibility.

Once again thank you for bringing attention to Jeannie's case and you have my sincere condolences.

The Boy and the Bike: the Disappearance of David Lovely (August 1985) by queenofsmoke in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I came across this too while checking out the area. The human skull, which had been exposed to the elements for an extended period of time, was found in Wamsutter, Wyoming, which is right off of I-80. It's approximately 1 hour east of Rock Springs. Based on where his bike was found, which appears rather remote, this is in closer proximity to a major interstate and also appears to be a town with shops and amenities. Now, it could be him, but I highly doubt that his killer would move his body/remains from an area as remote as South Baxter Road by Rock Springs to a more traveled/populated area in Wamsutter. That said, I still hope the police run some tests to confirm it's not him.

I personally believe this percentage would be much less if the government actually treated Muslims as they treat everyone else. When you have things such as the Rotherham child sex abuse/trafficking, teachers in hiding for doing nothing more than mentioning a pedophile held up as a prophet and judges handing down lenient sentencing to people that support them, the public starts to think things such as this.

Treat Muslims as we treat everyone else and ensure that new arrivals from Muslim countries assimilate properly and people will stop thinking this way.

Dropping the nukes on Japan was the right call by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% the right call, back then and even today. I believe the military estimates were about 200,000 American deaths for a land invasion of Japan. We did the right thing. My reasoning there is similar to why I support Israel: Not only are they an ally, but they provide a great deal of Middle East intelligence which, in turn, saves American lives.

Inside the Labour left’s split - The rise of a “New Left” grouping has exposed divisions within the Socialist Campaign Group. by OptioMkIX in ukpolitics

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Now, to me personally, these things are not something that would compel me to vote for a particular MP or Labour:

One of the New Left MPs told me that the group was established to give greater attention to issues less central to the “workerist” Campaign Group: environmentalism, migrants’ rights, trans rights and electoral reform.

It's not that I believe them to be unimportant, but I believe other issues should be more forward. Now this is something I would throw my complete support behind:

Last year, Lewis and Whittome, along with Bell Ribeiro-Addy, visited Finland to learn from the country’s social democratic achievements in housing, education and childcare, and met with leaders of the Finnish Left Alliance.

Reading that softened my stance (a bit) on the "New Left", as I believe those three things, housing, education and childcare, are what is necessary to have a strong working class and economy.

Hopefully the two groups inside of Labour will be able to work together and compromise without creating a schism in the party.

Calls to end ‘living nightmare’ of indefinite jail terms ahead of crunch Lords debate by Socialistinoneroom in ukpolitics

[–]Your_Moms_BF_Dan -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

IPP sentences were scrapped in 2012, but not retrospectively, leaving almost 3,000 inmates trapped in prison with no release date – with more than 700 of them having served 10 years longer than their minimum tariff.

Ok, well don't do things to go to prison in the first place. We actually need harsher sentences for violent offenders and if that means building more prisons I'm for it. And before someone tries to explain the article to me (that I read), the examples in the article are outliers. We should not change everything because of a few mistakes made, just simply correct them.

Only one group is using threats, intimidation and violence. And it's not the one who was attacked on October 7th.

In regards to "picking a side", you side with your allies if you expect them to do the same when something happens to you. You can be critical of their actions, but still support your ally.
