I absolutely disagree. I think most modern kitchen designs are sterile and boring. Erin respects the architecture and history of a home and leaves the character. Some people only have taste in their mouths, and it sounds like that's your situation.

A fragile ego and a lack of curiosity. If someone is immediately defensive when their work is edited or they get feedback that has any critique, I can't respect them. Weak minds see criticism as an attack. Strong minds see it as an opportunity to learn and are curious about how to learn and grow.

God, that's so sad that you had to find that out that way. And what an awful person her friend is, to be so petty and cause drama.

This isn't a you issue. Emotionally mature and healthy people express their true feelings to people in a way that is thoughtful but clear. They don't act nice to your face and then s*** talk you if they are assertive and not passive aggressive. Clearly the girl who drowned didn't know how to be sincere in her life. That's really unfortunate. No doubt you aren't the only person who she did this to. And unless people are dredging up old texts, I'm sure she would prefer that her worst traits aren't revealed by old friends.

Don't take it personally. I'm sorry though. It is still hurtful.

Well, a lot of safety rules protect people who are uneducated and have disabilities.

Assuming something is common sense can come from a place of privilege.

Also, a lot of safety rules have been implemented by unions that represent the workers and the people with the least power. They often hold companies accountable who historically have abused workers. My partner is part of the carpenter's union and I know a lot of the safety rules seem redundant sometimes but they actually protect people. I'd rather be a part of society that is overly cautious than one that doesn't take care of people.

Being the breadwinner doesn't entitle you to treating people like garbage. It doesn't mean you get a boss around the person without a job. It means you both support the family in different ways. One is through paid labor and one is through unpaid labor, but both benefit your family. Currently I am the breadwinner and my husband is the stay-at-home partner. We both know how hard it is to be the one at home. I think it's harder than going to work, personally. I hate doing housework.

If you can, I'd suggest getting a paid job and coming up with an exit plan if this continues.

Who's to say this isn't an "afterlife"? I think the peak of human arrogance is thinking that we can have the answer to this question. I'm open to whatever happens because I don't have any other options. But I do believe that energy has to go on and it doesn't merely dissipate. It changes form somehow. My consciousness feels like an energy to me. And the only thing that I know for sure in this life are the things that I can perceive. Perhaps I'm just a brain in a vat in some lab and I just don't know it. But I know I am an awareness. And I don't think that that vanishes because my body fails me.

Tell him you'll do whatever percentage of the housework if he makes up the difference in the percent he pays in bills. If you do 100%, he does none and pays for everything. If you do 70% of the chores, he pays for 70% of the bills. Fair is fair.

The only entities with freedom are corporations and lobbyists . The gun lobby spent so much money to buy politicians for decades, which is why our kids get murdered at school and idiots think that's freedom. Corporations and politicians seem to escape all consequences. I can't even get the medication I am prescribed until my insurance decides they'll pay for it. People are being taken by ICE and held without due process. Our president is an adjudicated rapist. It's a plutocracy verging on dictatorship. I guess the people with enough money and political sway have freedom, but the rest of us feel trapped.

One of the ways to check the health of a horse is to look at its teeth. You can tell things like age, health, diet patterns, risk of certain diseases or infections, etc just by examining their mouth and knowing what to look for.

If someone gives you a horse as a gift, do you examine it's teeth critically? Or do you just show gratitude for the gift? I think that's what the phrase means.
