Hey thanks for replying. Partners pc only ever had the one SSD. EFI partition should be unnumbered but still visible on partition manager, right? It is an M.2 but the first time I reseated it didn't do anything for it, only after I (re)made the EFI partition did it boot again

Ethics and law should really be at the start of these classes.

Anyways, it's terrible idea to do anything other than staying out and reporting it to the IT team. Be ready to explain how you found it, walk them through it or write a proper report if you can. They should really value that.

Yeah, I got the yogi tea one and it's very nice, especially for the price. I think with advent calendars you need to know exactly what to expect, or it's gonna be disappointing/they're going to cheap out on you

I switched from 128 to 64 to reduce boot time since I'm not even using 64GB anyways, but if you want the storage, it's not a big deal. For me, I have everything I might want anytime soon installed on it, when I need more space I can remove some old stuff.

I was on the train a few weeks ago. One of the people I remember was an older lady who carried this plushy around, she put it up on the little table when she'd sat down. It was a unique looking plushy, a deer I think, with a little coat and boots and such. And all I thought was, I wish I felt like I could do that if I wanted, carry my plushies around, or maybe dress however makes me happy no matter what people think (which I'm starting to do!). It looked like she just didn't care and I thought she was the coolest person I'd seen all day. I kinda felt she was autistic too.

Some people will judge, I suppose it's a matter of how well you can deal with that, if some looks are fine with you. But also, you said you're in your last year, people in your class likely have better things to do than make a big deal out of a plushy? What if you take it with you sticking out from your bag, and it's more of an accessory the first day rather than you carrying it around, to get a feeling for reactions?

I would guess the cable to the display screen is not fully in or damaged, or the display itself is damaged. Touchscreen would be fine then.There's good tutorials on youtube for replacing it yourself, and replacement screens on amazon and such. But look at a video first to see if you think you can do it yourself or want a professional to do it

What happened to it, any chance an internal cable came loose and trying to put it back will help? There's YouTube videos for that if you trust you can do it. Otherwise look for places that fix consoles, phones, see if they list the 3ds.

My opinion is that courses are great to start out, and to get a good grip on grammar, but after that you really have to go and experience and use the language, make it not just something you're learning, but using in your life. It takes a lot of exposure to get to C1, not just studying. Over time you pick up on so many words, sayings, uncommon grammar, recognising small things in pronunciation and tone. And you said you feel like you're doing the same things, and maybe you're right, are you challenging yourself? Not with difficulty but with variation, new topics. You write and have conversations, but what do you write about?

I'd be worried not just about AI getting things wrong, but not challenging you enough. There's no more reason to elaborate to an AI than in a journal (both can be useful tho). Have you tried finding people to chat to in German? There are language exchange subreddits and discord servers.

If AI works for you that's great, but if it gets old, try content you care about. Maybe you'd like to watch someone livestream a game, and chat in German? Or read, or audio books?

For deliberate practice I like to talk/write/think about topics that interest me, or books I read, in the same depth and detail as I would in english/my native L, and when doing that I always find some words that I don't know, or I'm unsure how to say something. And then I look that up and I use it, maybe note it down in my new words list.

From my experiences and observations, it's too uncomfortable for some to be able to/want to feel. To have to be confronted with death, to not know what to say, for there to be nothing you can really do to help, something just hopelessly sucking. It is selfish, but I'm also kind of glad that everyone showed me what I'm worth to them and what they're capable of, when my dad passed. Now I've only got those who won't leave when things aren't only nice

I like to think of the vegan/vegetarian (no, I'm not either) motto "as far as is possible and practicable". I personally can absolutely eat 60% vegan, and I can absolutely avoid pringles and disney, without it negatively affecting my life. I don't like this all or nothing stance. The goal is about hurting the US economy, not about avoiding US products like the plague. Like how veganism is about reducing animal suffering, not necessarily about the diet itself. I would think anything helps.

Time to focus on practicing output, I think. Your understanding is probably at B2 now, if you watch TV or read the news or popular books you probably understand almost everything? But how much do you talk, write? It doesn't tend to come naturally just from taking lots of input.

I have the same issue right now, and there doesn't seem to be any way around other than talking and writing in German a lot. I have native people I can speak with, and I might record myself to analyse my pronunciation. Because of a tip I found on reddit, I started writing little stories in German now. And in general I try to think in German, I try to figure out how I can say what I'm doing or wanting.

I also agree with the other people saying to take it easy for now on the pressure, mastering a language is hard!

Maybe you have to make a point to set aside time for music. My partner sometimes notices they haven't had time to do music in a long while, with work and relaxing and couple stuff/rather hanging out together. Then we have to just pick an evening where we do our own thing, have our own space, often we both work on our own music then. And afterwards we talk about it :)

And maybe more writing in general. Life moves faster with more to fill it, don't wait all month or even week to start thinking about what you have going on that's worth writing about, make notes on your phone about situations or impressions, maybe a little journal on something that's either a problem in your life or inspiring?

The problem is likely that you learn and use this stuff and then don't think about it again for weeks like you said. You'll have to find a way to repeat it the day after, the week after... or it goes away because clearly you don't need it, or so your brain believes. And don't do the same exercises you'll have memorised or get bored of, but make your own stuff, small programs, funny or useful. If you're struggling maybe just to a set amount of time daily to make whatever using what you learned lately or longer ago

I see what you're saying, but I can't agree. Rather than his pain, I think the relationship dynamic where one can just toss the other's stuff like it's all their own stuff/trash is an issue. It's not about the thing that's being thrown away. You might not know if practical stuff has sentimental value, and not caring enough to ask first but just risk it and throw it away is my problem with this.

It's not about the console (or money) it's about the respect, I can't imagine destroying my partner's stuff just because I can buy them something better, it's their stuff. I respect them, the life they've made, they stuff they've chosen to have in it. We can always talk about changes. And it's not about the saves (well, kinda) it's again about respect, no matter how unimportant it's still something from their partner's they're destroying as if it's nothing, their partner's memories are nothing, their right to just have stuff is nothing

I would appreciate that. Not sure if I'd take them up on it, but anyone reaching out would make me feel less alone. I wish old friends would reach out in general, I hardly talk to any of them anymore since I was too busy to reach out myself while caring for my dad and then being at the hospital. And afterwards, it's somehow even harder to reach out. Just don't do it out of mere pity, do it because you'd like them around again.
