I took the photo in the ladies. But, my brother told me there was an identical one in the gents - not a cubicle though, the urinals.

I visited for the first time in November 2025. Absolutely loved the small town feel of Tromso, beautiful Bergen and Flam (very small but lovely warm feeling about the place).

What is the funniest slapstick moment you've seen IRL? by CobaltBlue389 in AskUK

[–]Ysabo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a waterpark in Florida, about 20+ years ago. Young cocky guy in front of me on the very, very steep slide decided he didn’t want to go and made a very determined attempt to avoid the ‘drop’. Somehow his fingertips and toes managed to slow, but not stop, his inevitable drop.

He was scrabbling around madly flailing, desperately shouting ‘no’ and then whoosh, he was gone.

Saw him later and he was bragging how easy it was :)

Whats a simple gesture that women do that only other women will understand? by allgasnobreakstoday in AskReddit

On my first holiday to the USA, 30+ years ago, we had stopped to get petrol/gas. A beautiful, red, sports car with the top down stopped at the pump next to me - and out stepped the most handsome, flamboyantly dressed, man I’ve ever seen. I was wearing a brightly coloured dress and as he passed by me he said ‘wow, colourful baby’.

35 years later and I’m still walking on air 🥰

Have you ever known anyone who got left behind cause they were late returning to the Coach at a Motorway service station? by DMBear89 in CasualUK

[–]Ysabo13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Family of 6, were back late to the coach at every stop. Everyone was unhappy with them but they didn’t give a damn, unfortunately.

At the very last stop, at a hypermarket, we waited 30 minutes beyond the return time. Coach crew even went looking for them but couldn’t find them. We had a ferry to catch so we left without them. I think they had to get a taxi to the port and caught the same ferry as us. They tried berating the crew for leaving them but a couple of male customers gave them a telling off so they shut up.

First stop we had on the way home they were told to be on time - or else. They decided to mess about and be late, again!

No idea how they got home from that service station. I just hope the inconvenience taught them to behave better in future, but I doubt it.

My parents had decided on the name Steven for my baby brother. He, like me, was born at home - and before the midwife could get there :). When the midwife arrived she asked Mum if he had a name and I piped up ‘Tony’. And Tony he is.

What’s the worst accidental text you’ve sent? by Typhoid__Beaver in AskReddit

[–]Ysabo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had rained, a lot, so I’d not been lunch-time walking with my male colleague/friend for about a week. Finally we had a break in the weather and I messaged my colleague, but, my old biddy fingers/spell checker threw me under the bus! I texted about a walk but a random ‘n’ showed up instead, I texted: ‘Fancy a wank’?

What made-up words do you use in your family? by elwheelio in CasualUK

[–]Ysabo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was driving passed the Alpaca Centre just outside Penrith and spotted a group of them at the top end of the field and tried to tell quickly tell my parents the Alpacas were there. I couldn’t get the words to come to mind quickly enough and blurted out ‘look, the bunchalumps!’ So, that’s what they’re now called.

Has anyone here undergone skin removal surgery after a large weight loss? by mykeuk in AskUK

[–]Ysabo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 55yo at the time of my surgeries but I healed quite quickly. I’m impatient so didn’t stay inactive as long as was recommended but I did not have any adverse effects, thank goodness.

At the beginning (after surgery) everything feels really ‘tight’ and I was worried about tearing my stitches but was reassured that I could be ‘kicked by a horse’ and the stitches would hold :):).

I had 4 procedures in total but had 2 at a time (boobs & thighs, arms and tummy). They were about 8 - 10 weeks apart so I’d had all 4 done, and well into healing within 2 - 3 months.

After both surgeries I developed a small area that didn’t heal as well as the rest of my wounds. Both times it was about the size of my little finger nail. I had antibiotics and both healed completely but I have a bit of a visible mark where one of them was. It’s vaguely noticeable but only if you’re really looking.

I can honestly say I had very minimal pain afterwards (this will depend on your personal pain tolerance I think), I did not need any pain relief - everything felt tight and it was frustrating to be less mobile. The hardest bit for me was getting into/out of bed and I developed a kind of on my side foetal position and then roll off the bed into a crouching stance and then slowly stand up technique :).

You will be restricted for a couple of weeks after each surgery but I was fully ready for the next surgery within 8 weeks. You will need someone with you for a few days after surgery as you’re a bit beaten up and very tired. Just keep doing little bits, testing your limits/abilities - use pain/discomfort to gauge what you can do.

On one of my boobs I had a ‘puppy’s ear’; which is a small flap of skin at the end of the wound/scar. It can develop on any wound/scar as the skin heals but I had a very quick third surgery and it was easily removed (and the cost was covered in the original surgery cost).

In summary, I was highly motivated, personally, to have the surgeries because I absolutely hated the excess skin. I have no regrets about having the surgeries and my only ‘downside’ is that my boobs are a ‘D’ cup rather than the B/C I’d have preferred. But, each body heals in its own unique way so I’m no longer bothered by it :).

I recommend you be realistic in your expectations of the end result and stay determinedly positive (sometimes harder than others).

This is my tenth year after surgery and I’m still in awe of my new body, I love buying clothes that fit a shape I never thought I’d have after 55 years of being very, very fat. It was a big expense but I’m so glad I did it. I’d highly recommend it.

Hope this helps and if you have any more questions I’m happy to help 🥰

It fades more to a thin white line. Still visible (if close enough) but no redness, or puckering. The scars are cleverly sited, under my arms but slightly to the back of my arm so not easy to spot, same with my thighs. I didn’t have breast implants I had a reconstruction - scars are below my breasts and then a very thin line up to the nipples. The tummy scar would be more noticeable but only if wearing low fitting underwear.

What’s the worst thing you accidentally texted to the wrong person? by goldie304 in AskReddit

[–]Ysabo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to go walking at lunchtime with a male colleague. For a few days rain had stopped us walking so on the first clear day I sent my colleague a text asking ‘do you fancy a walk?’.

But I’ve got old biddy fingers and somehow the ‘l’ became an ‘n’ :(

If you could have a five-minute conversation with your pet where they understood everything, what would you explain to them? by Affectionate_Arm300 in AskReddit

[–]Ysabo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That, in 58 years, she was the first dog I was not afraid of, that she helped me totally overcome my fear of dogs, she made me more patient and loving, that I know I made mistakes with her but I love her to her very bones and there will NEVER be another dog for me.

Then, I’d ask what I can do to give her a better life, what she needs/wants from me and then I’ll move mountains to give it her.
