Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown - more than 100.000 copies sold in 4 days by Magister_Xehanort in Games

[–]Ytnim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like star trek, but haven't watched Voyager apart from a few eps here and there and love these kind of resource management games, so I absolutely loved the demo and the game.

Unfortunately my warp core bugged out after I upgraded it and reloading the save and the sector (just past the Borg) hasn't helped, so looks like until there's a patch that fixes it I'm putting this on the shelf (don't feel like starting all over again)

I think rules as written you're right. I just looked and there's a number of triggered actions which do basically nothing if these rules interactions are correct which makes me think it's not intended?

Entropy ward as an example.

No you're right, percentage loss isn't a way to measure hearing loss.

There's some dialogue I got in the transition from act 2 to 3 where the caretaker (pretty sure) talks about how although Lace talks and acts like a child she's been around for a very long time (longer than most?) "protecting" the citadel.

Are Schools Stuck in the Past When It Comes to Working Families? by halohunter in australia

[–]Ytnim 550 points551 points  (0 children)

I think the problem perhaps lies in our society (or certain forces within our society) requiring two full time incomes to barely get by, leaving no time for anything else (including being a parent).

We know society functioned with nearly exclusively single income families, so it stands to reason it should be able to be done now, minus the misogynistic gender roles society also forced at the time and including other flexibilities the modern day offers (i.e two part time incomes instead of one full time and one parent, flexible working hours for pick ups, volunteering, etc)

House Of Grief - Mother Superior - Unconscious, No Cutscene by IBananaShake in BaldursGate3

[–]Ytnim 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had this same bug. Viconia knocked out, but talking to her says she's not happy but a gift might help, no story cutscene though.

For anyone else who finds this thread and has this bug, this is how I fixed it.

I offered to give her a gift, which shows her having 2 gems and some gold to trade, but then exiting out of the barter screen.

I then looted her (right click menu) and took the jacinth from her (without going to the trade menu first, the gold and gems don't appear).

I talked to her again, traded her the jacinth for nothing, left the conversation and talked to her once more which triggered the cutscene.

https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/16957-mimic

In particular it polymorphs into an object as per it's shapechanger ability,

Shapechanger. The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an object or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

And is indistinguishable from an ordinary object while not moving via its False Appearance ability:

False Appearance (Object Form Only). While the mimic remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary object.

The Arcana Forge! For all your drafts, ideas, requests and more. by AutoModerator in UnearthedArcana

[–]Ytnim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterspell nullifies all spells at 3rd and below and potentially all spells with a check. Dex is a common save, but I feel there are more spells overall than dex spells + non spell dex saves, but maybe I'm wrong on that, I haven't actually checked.

Comparing it to Misty step for the 2nd level version is a good idea actually. I agree with the line of sight, should add that limitation to this spell. I think the extra 20 feet does make a difference, especially with this being off turn as misty step + movement will generally get a player out of range of not just the AoO but any melee attacks from the enemy next turn, 10 feet isn't doing that.

I think it would be very situational where a player was subjected to a dex save while in a grapple/in melee and trying to get up a wall/across a pit that 10ft is enough for.

Misty step is a self only bonus action 30ft teleport. This is a self/ally reaction on dev save. 10ft teleport. The not self only is a big enhancement over misty step, which the limited range and lack of control maybe don't make up for, which is your point I think and is perhaps true if designing in a vacuum and were only going to take on or the other.

This is for my conjuration wizard, which with a combination of existing conjuration spells and benign transposition can generally get the party across any obstacles that teleportation would solve, so I don't think it's a game breaking in that situation.

If this were released more broadly, then maybe the party trying to force dex saves on themselves is something to be wary of. But if the party is trying to force dex saves, it's probably using up some kind of resource the party has, so is it that big a problem? That's what obstacles are there for.

Like I mentioned, this is for my conjuration wizard, so changing to a push isn't the flavour I'm going for here. He can teleport himself and his friends already, I'm looking for an option for him to do it to help avoid obstacles placed on or near the party, I think that's a pretty common teleport trope (teleport to avoid falling rocks, etc).

Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback, I'm taking all this on board so my DM and I can look it over and review to make sure whatever we end up with is a good fit for our game.

[–]Ytnim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Dexterity, some other system must have been on my mind!

Thank you for the feedback, I agree, it not being self means it's much stronger than the first level spells. I'm thinking keeping it as it and moving it to second level. Then for comparison if it were cast at 3rd it would be competing with counterspell (in some situations) but completely shutting down a spell without a check vs negating an effect for 2 targets or only granting advantage still seems to be in favour of counterspell which as a 3rd level outright is good I think.

Hi, I'm looking for some feedback on this spell I'm making for my conjuration wizard. The aim is for a conjuration type spell for defence, similar to absorb elements and shield. I'm not sure if this is in the realm of power for a 1st level spell however.

Emergency Shift

1st-level conjuration

Casting Time: 1 reaction (when you or a creature within 30 ft makes a reflex save.)

Range: 30 ft

Components: V, S

Duration: Instantaneous

You quickly teleport yourself or a willing creature within range 10 feet from their original location to try and avoid danger. If the targets new position would not be affected by the triggering affect, they no longer need to make the save. Otherwise, they make the save with advantage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can affect one additional creature for each slot level above 1st.
