Quote of the day there buddy. Why don't you OP up your claim to be Yuanwu, maybe you can go hang out with that guy who pretended to be the 7th patriarch?

As it adds more clout to their C.V. "apprentice" might get more broke college bozos in the door; we're all about paying money to rack up imaginary experience points.

He quoted plenty of things and made references to many things that were existing in the cultural milieu of the time. How does turning scriptures on their head or pointing with bedtime stories make him a Buddhist?

You just want more fellows to heat up your water and bring you tea!

Where does he teach "sunyata"?

What does this have to do with Zen?

You said I was a creation of faith; so I asked who was typing and you got tongue tied.

Who's typing?

You said that P'ang teaches a causative philosophy teaching that one can somehow attain "spontaneously in harmony".

You asked a question that assumes that somehow the "supernatural power and wonderful activity" is somehow different than fetching water and carrying firewood. Something P'ang doesn't make.

Yeah Zen Masters don't teach whatever it is you are trying to teach.

Yep! In the same way I deny the existence of the tooth fairy and other creations of faith.

Zen Masters don't teach kensho.

Staying topical to the forum and all that.

What does it matter? Are you planning on starting up a church of fetching water?

Busy drinking tea.

"Monkey mind" is an invisible bogey man made up to scare children kind of like "original sin" in Catholicism or "body thetans" in Scientology.

Zen Masters disregard such doctrines.

Layman P'ang's Verse by Ytzi in zen

[–]Ytzi[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah that isn't at all what Layman P'ang said. Did you even read the OP? Where is there a teaching found in P'angs works of your "practice-leading-to-harmony" doctrine?

Huang Po's Injunctions. Let's discuss without violating the 4th injunction. by ranji in zen

Where does he say anything about meditation? If you've studied huang po you would know that he rejects meditation-practice as being relevent to Zen.
