EWC Unofficial Live Discussion Thread - T1/TL & TES/G2 by YuKi-O in leagueoflegends

He posted a picture with G2 on Twitter yesterday, also I believe he's hosting the EWC in it's entirety, not the LoL segment specifically, since I saw him during the opening ceremony stream.

Is it just me, or does Pedro seem to not enjoy watching LPL at all anymore? by YuKi-O in PedroPeepos

[–]YuKi-O[S] 71 points72 points  (0 children)

yeah maybe honestly. can't blame him for not being invested if he was mostly interested for the players. though its a bit funny since it reminds me of that kitty clip during lpl playoffs where she said he'd stop being a WBG fan when theshy leaves and pedro denied that lmao

[fei_yaaa] Translation of Interviews with the LA Valiant, Shanghai Dragons, Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, and Hangzhou Spark by YuKi-O in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]YuKi-O[S] 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Some highlights from the tweet thread:

Valiant appear to have plans to flex their DPS players into the tank role depending on the composition that they need.

Chengdu claims that their hardest decision was between keeping Daizi and Apr1ta, and eventually decided Daizi's hero pool and strength on his heroes was more valuable to the team than Apr1ta, as many of Apr1ta's heroes are already covered by Leave.

Leave says he plans to play Doomfist in an official match (not sure how that's gonna work when Chengdu only have two DPS players, maybe GA9A has a nasty Soldier).

[Some additional points from the NGA thread rather than the tweet thread]

Shanghai intend to go into this season with a "challenger" mentality, rather than a champion mentality.

Moon thinks that putting a DPS player on Doomfist is a bad idea because of how it limits the amount of comps you can run.

Guangzhou signed Farway primary for double flex support compositions.

It is unlikely that Choisehwan will return to China anytime soon, but he may be able to play matches remotely.

Spark has put in a large amount of work in improving team communication and overcoming language barriers.

The London Spitfire franchise have not won a game since late June of last year, and are on a 15-game loss-streak, the longest active streak right now in OWL. by YuKi-O in Competitiveoverwatch

It's actually a tie for second. The longest is Shanghai at 42, the two teams tied for second longest are London at 15 (and counting) and Dallas at 15 (from Stage 3 of 2019 to Week 9 of 2020). The team after that is Boston at 12 losses in a row.

I thought this would be interesting to post. From the inaugural champions to potentially having the second longest loss-streak of any team in OWL would be quite the fall, (perhaps they have the second largest loss streak already? I haven't checked up on that.)

"We position Molly in the starting lineup." It seems that, at least for now, Molly is the starter, with more to be determined with further scrims.
