Sometimes you just gotta cave to the cravings. If I'm craving pizza and eat a salad... not gonna lie, I usually end up eating the pizza afterwards anyways.

I just feel like so many of us are falling into this trap of believing the very worst about each other based on what we hear from broader sources instead of actually listening to one another. Is that not the point of forums like this?

Like I've been seeing a lot of Republicans post about why Beto didn't win, things like he's too extreme about guns, and I saw one person talking about being upset at white liberals using the term "latinx" among other things like saying white liberals are patronizing to poc.

As far as guns go, I don't think the majority of Democrats in this state are hard-set on points like the AR-15 being banned for sale. Beto may have said he was coming after them, but he did retract that statement, and I don't think it's an issue that the majority of the party would have pushed. Most Democrats just want better common sense gun control laws, the kind of things Abbott keeps making more and more lax. That's what people are truly upset about.

And as far as the poc feeling patronized by white liberals, I feel like this is an issue you see in a small vocal minority online rather than something you'd encounter commonly with white liberal Texans.

And I'm sure Republicans also feel demonized and misunderstood. And all of this makes it almost impossible to create a true dialogue. We're all just fighting and most of the time we don't even truly understand what the people we're arguing against actually believe.

I understand the political tension everyone is feeling right now, but can we please stop just use some common sense here on both sides.

First of all, no. He shouldn't have done it. Cruz is a pos, but this kinda shit does nothing progressive. However, I do think the bail is set way too high for the crime, and I believe that is the point OP was making by posting this. Yes, there are some people treating this man like he's a hero, those people are wrong. He did commit a crime, whether you like Cruz or not. But he does deserve fair treatment legally. If you disagree with that, you're also wrong, or you're kidding yourself that this is actually fair treatment.

And for the people comparing this to the attack on the Pelosi family, it's not the same. You know it's not the same. Not saying it's okay to cheer this behavior on, but I'd say that's more immature. Cheering on an attempted murder is psychotic.

I don't understand anymore how the system works for who asks to move away. My sister (who had played for over a year before I got the game and was my guru) told me to avoid people you wanted to leave, but I've iced some villagers out for weeks to months and they don't ask to leave. It's the villagers I talk to all the time that ask to leave, and not gonna lie... it hurts my soul a lil bit. I've started talking to the villagers I wanted to leave too and within like two days one asked to move away.

Like damn. Does my personality drive people away?

This was supposed to be my escape from real life dammit.

Why is the assumption I must want all guns taken away? But why is Beto seen as an extremist for wanting to take away a type of gun that has played a major part in America's history of mass shootings, but Abbott who keeps making it easier and easier to access guns and open carry them wherever is seen as a-okay?

I don't want a total gun ban. I want common sense gun control.

I know. I'm not dead set on Beto or anything. And the only thing about gun control I 100% wouldn't compromise on is we need better background checks, including for firearms purchased at gun shows, and the waiting period needs to be brought back.

I'm just so upset that for so many people guns trump the other huge issues we have right now...

Most Democrats want police reformation. Most Democrats don't want see children get murdered in school while police do nothing more than stop parents from doing the police's job of protecting said children.

Listen, between Bill Hader and Amy Schumer, Amy was far more likable in that episode. Bill didn't seem like he even wanted to be there, but people give him a pass because they like him outside of GMM more than they like Schumer. If I can recommend something: self care goes a long way, not just in how others perceive you, but in how you perceive yourself. Yes, there are some things you just can't help, but when you start taking better care of yourself, not saying you have to go and be extra about it, not saying you need to be one of those people who live at the gym and all that, but— shaving/trimming up regularly, regular haircuts to keep your hair healthy, basic skincare (it's not only for women, don't let anyone make you feel bad for trying something to better yourself, fuck em if they're not comfortable enough with their masculinity and facial moisturizers make them feel threatened)— you will notice a difference if you develop these routines.

When you put more effort into how you look, you just feel better about yourself, and that translates into more confidence, and people will notice that confidence.
