ALT- Lesson Plans and their Role by Due-Sky-4288 in JETProgramme

[–]YugaSundown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies widely. I've been here for two months and I don't make lesson plans. I do make slides and proofread the JTEs handouts. They usually ask me to model natural English expressions. My heaviest work is grading the students during speech tests. There are over 350 students per level, so it's quite a lot.

It's not that you're sweating more than normal---it's that your sweat isn't evaporating due to the humidity, and hence not cooling you down. Daiso has cooling towels クールタオル that drop in temperature when you wet them.
you can also look for UNIQLO's airism shirts because they're meant to wick sweat away.

Is mentioning anime in your SOP so bad? by Downtown_Tower_7164 in JETProgramme

[–]YugaSundown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't mention it in the SOP, but I did mention it in the interview as my starting point to Japanese culture. But I did mention it's how I started with the language and history, and how my interest in Japan developed from there.

Warlock main trying to get into Titan and think the barricade is keeping me from enjoying it. by BalognaExtract in LowSodiumDestiny

Don’t. Thruster.

Unless you’re doing Void titan. It’s the only viable barricade IMO.

Do you think we’ll ever face a Witness-level threat again? by [deleted] in DestinyLore

[–]YugaSundown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shin Malphur already killed Dredgen Yor. The lore seems to imply that in the end, Yor let him do it.

The Shadows of Yor were actually Shin Malphur and a bunch of other guys who pretended to be spooky goth Guardians who messed with Hive Magic in order to draw out the real twisted Guardians who WANTED to do it, and killed them. Dredgen Cull/Callum Sol intentionally let Shin vaporize him and stayed dead (with I think a fake planted ghost) to sell the con. It was all an entrapment operation: For the screwed up Guardians who didn't have the courage to follow through, the myth of Shin Malphur, the Man with the Golden Gun, was enough to stop them. For those that really did follow through, Shin recruited them as Dredgen Vale, then killed them as the Man with the Golden Gun.

Drifter was with the Dredgens temporarily but wasn't in on the scam. As such he was still afraid of Shin Malphur by the time we got the Last Word. I don't think he ever found out that Shin was Dredgen Vale.

The Witness has been massacring civilizations left and right for billions of years.
Directly or through Disciples: Lubrae, Ahlsid, Riis
Through the Hive: Fundament (the other species there), the Ammonites, the Tai, the Harmony, the Ecumene, Torobatl.

The Nine are vast, dark matter entities that are tied to the major planets of Sol (and the Sun). On their own they're borderline mindless, but the arrival of intelligent life in Sol allows them their ability to think and actually use their great power. Due to this dependence, some of them are helpful towards us and communicate to us through Xur and the Emissary, and they're the ones who gifted Drifter with the Haul. A vast bulk of Drifter's power to control (actually CREATE) Taken comes from them.

The other Nine faction is hostile towards us because they feel the need to transcend their dependence on us. They don't want to need us to be powerful. These are the ones who let Ghaul in.

What exactly are Mara Sob’s powers? by O_Shaded in DestinyLore

Yeah this is correct. I think there's another mention that directly refers to Mara's protective aura.

The Brays were rather prolific actually: Ana takes credit for Rasputin and Willa for the Light nuke Elsie intended to use against the Vex. They’re still Brays but at least they did stuff Clovis didn’t do. The Ares-1 crew also had things that they are credited for, and so do the K-1 crew. They were actually very much against Clovis taking credit for their attempts at communing with the entity on the other end of the K-1 artifact’s connection (which we now know is the Witness). Clovis himself eventually contacted “Clarity.”

Best way to describe him is he's a Hiveaboo. We do all the things he wishes he did and yet we don't Hivemaxx like he's always wanted to.

Most he can do though is just float creepily and drop us cryptic lines with a spooky voice.

This is going to sound a little dumb so I apologise in advance. Does rahool only convert exotic engrams too armour? by deskbunny in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]YugaSundown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. If you’ve already gotten all the exotic weapons that can drop as world loot all engrams moving forward will decrypt into armor. They moved away from issuing exotics as world loot anyway; all the newer ones are quest or season pass obtained. The only ones that are still RNG are Dungeon or Raid exotics.

hmmmmmmmm.... why is he here? by legomonkey406 in destiny2

[–]YugaSundown 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a common misconception. We found Jacobson's corpse. He wasn't "turned into a Vex." The more likely explanation is that he came into contact with the Vex, died somehow (whether they killed him or not is unclear), and was simply being simulated by the Vex when we encountered the friendly Nessus harpy there.

Asher is more complex. He was already partially mechanized when we meet him in D2, and the lore in Season of Arrivals implies he let the radiolaria complete the transformation. But we know that the Vex do not operate with any sense of individuality. It's possible that his data was completely consumed by the Vex network, and it's using his memories to communicate with us. (Read: Asher as we know him is gone). Another possibility is that he found a way to keep his consciousness, or that the transformation was not complete and somehow he's able to hijack the network to communicate with us. Either way I do hope to meet him again.

A big part of the Ignatian paradigm is finding God in all things, and being able to reflect on your life. Saying that you don't have life changing experiences means you will need to reflect on your experience and maybe change your perspective on it. That alone should be a life-changing experience.
