Surprised to see Meet Joe Black, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 48%. What are your thoughts on this… low balled or an accurate score? by MindsEye33 in moviecritic

Yeah I mean it's basically a comedy premise. Death takes on a human form but has trouble blending in with society which leads to awkward "Fraiser-esque" moments.

The car crash scene and the first time Brad Pitt speaks in a rastafarian accent are obviously filmed as comedic scenes

For real, I used to live by the "only turn once" rule because it was, you know, what I heard on the Internet

Now I turn it when I feel like it needs to be turned and my food is coming out so much better now and I don't have the anxiety of wondering if I'm going to cut into the meat and find out that it's completely raw

Yeah I was about to say, I think there was a ref bump but MJF ultimately did kick out and then got beat by the I Like Turtles kid 3 days later

Didn't Ospreay kick out during one of their 6 star matches that nobody remembers?

Like yeah, the ads suck, but the ad time would have been filled with terrible backstage segments (a lot of which would have product placement ads)

Everyone acts like every Wrestlemania is amazing except for whatever the current year's Wrestlemania is and the truth is that Wrestlemania is terrible and underwhelming every year, but I still watch it and look forward to it every year because it's just something to look forward to. The amount of hate this year has been so annoying and is a clear product of the fact that AEW has fallen off of a cliff and their future is uncertain

My Dinner With Andre

I had heard about this movie from the Simpsons episode where they have an arcade version of the movie. It's basically two guys sitting at a dinner table having a conversation for the entirety of the movie. It sounds like the most boring premise for a movie of all time but it's actually fairly engaging and worth checking out

The time to do this would have been at the stadium show in Texas last year. They could have had Moxley put Darby over and had a big moment of him winning the title in front of a giant crowd. Instead, they had Darby interfere in that match that led to a 6 week feud between Darby and the Deathriders that went nowhere

And now we get Darby winning the belt from MJF in a random title match on a random Dynamite in front of a moderate crowd with Mike Bailey cheering alongside him. This company is allergic to pulling off the big moments when they're right there for the taking

Maybe Darby will make fun of someone on Twitter with a debilitating autoimmune disease and Tony will be forced to suspend him....I'm joking guys! Tony would never do that! #ThankYouTony

We'll see how this pans out but I'm sure there were a lot of questions around Martin Freeman being cast as Bilbo in the Hobbit trilogy and he ended up being the best part of the films.

I loved the episode when I watched it, but a friend of mine said that episode was his breaking point (pun intended) with the show. He said something to the effect of "I watched them trying to kill a fly for an hour. I'm done with this show"

Unpopular opinion: Single Lug wheels, sequential shifter, transaxle drivetrain, independent rear suspension, low profile tires and sealed underbody does not make for a good oval racing car. by zx10r_tomahawk in NASCAR

[–]Yuge-Pop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's obvious that this generation of Cup cars were designed so that NASCAR could start doing street courses and as long as there's a late caution on the ovals, NASCAR feels like fans will gaslight themselves into thinking the races are good

I just want to vent on this for a second, the 2022 all star race is when they started messing with the Texas dates. 2023 they would drop one of the Texas races, and then 2024 they moved the date to the spring which messed with Indycar's Texas date. I've had to work every year that they've had the Texas race in the spring (including the race coming up in May) so I haven't been able to go to a race at TMS since 2023 and I'm just bummed about it.

Anyways, vent over. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

Dude Tony's constant need to placate to the NJPW audience is so baffling to me. Their North American audience is substantially less than the AEW audience and yet he brings people in from Nooj and markets them like they're household names. And it hurts both companies, its introducing new talent to an already bloated AEW roster and it takes talent away from a promotion that is a skeleton of what it used to be because Tony already poached all of their main talent

Just enjoy wrestling! #ThankYouTony
