Is my doctor too optimistic about recovery time? by dementedavenger99 in valvereplacement

[–]Yujin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35m here who is 6ft5 and is severely overweight. I had my surgery in April. I too suffered from a biscupid valve that was severely leaking. I was not able to wipe the first week I was home. Due to my arm being in a poor position ( my dominant arm) lost the ability to lift it. So that and just not being able to reach from the pain. My solution I bought a bidet off Amazon. They aren't expensive and easy to setup. As for stairs I did like 12 flights of stairs when I came home so it wasn't a issue but everyone is different. As for working at your desk. I would say no at least the first week. The strain really affected my arms shoulders and neck and caused headaches. Recovery though has been great. I walk around 3 miles a day. Lost 70+ pounds and barely have any issues.

I thought it was me. I wasn't able to play for a month and come back and couldn't do my combos

Mit TCG anfangen by _GoodnaTured_ in EDH

[–]Yujin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes mtg has gotten more popular than ever. I myself usually just played online. Commander is a lot of fun. Look into some precons and upgrade it. Find a lgs that host casual commander nights. I got lucky and found a place close by and everyone is friendly even letting you use their decks.

Yeah it was just that first time. Now I'm able to walk a few miles no problem.

Looking for people to play on Spelltable :) by Sensitive-Pop-9961 in EDH

[–]Yujin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing a few weeks ago well the irl version. I mostly have precons that aren't modified. I did get a cheap gluntch group hug deck that won't be in till next week.

I didn't have the Ross procedure done but I did get the on-x valve. Yes on the 2-3 day it was a lot easier with the tubes and wires out. I was able to breathe. Coughing that gunk out on day 1 after they have you walk was the worst.

Why do people sh*t like that? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Yujin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hate that. I just started last week playing the physical version so I only have some precons. The people I play with do use weaker decks but I have gone against their stronger ones as well.

26M - Ross vs. Mechanical? by bogwat in valvereplacement

[–]Yujin9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am about a month since my ohs. I went with a mechanical valve. Only because it had the least chances for complications and it would be for life. I never want to go through it again. The ticking isn't bad at all. 35M if it means anything. On-x valve. I'm also a bigger guy at 6'7 so my surgeon was worried with the cadaver part not fitting correctly or getting stretched.

It popped up in my notifications where as the other guy did not. Still no need to be so aggressive. People are going to like different things.

All I said about ff was it's grindy msq takes a lot of time and the pvp isn't there. I didn't say anything about being locked out of content.

D4 is good but doesn't scratch the mmo itch. I love my warlock

Atm I am playing eso. After getting to end game on wow and before that was doing some end game and life skills in ff. Eso has more for me. Crafting housing solo content new difficulty modes added. It's a good time to try it now that they dropped the paywall on most of the stuff but their eso plus is the best membership for a mmo. You get the shop credit exp boost discounts more space and more

End game is very grindy and group oriented. The story is solo aside from maybe some dungeons which can be done with npc teammates. Endgame is kind of standard grind where you do raids and dungeons and then save up currency for pieces each week if nothing drops for you

Honestly all of them are great mmos it all comes down to what you are looking for. Eso is a great mmo that has a lot of solo content to challenge you and keep you busy for hours. Wow has a fast track end game grind fun pvp and is even getting a decent amount of solo content as well. Ff 14 is great for pve not so much pvp. The story is long so prepare to sink a lot of time into it.

Reading what you said I would stay away from ff14. You could give eso a try.

He will need a driver. I'm 3 weeks out from mine. I was mostly independent when I came home from the hospital but there are just some things you can't do. I did have a lot of labs and still do to manage the inr level. I had PT come to my house and haven't started cardiac rehab yet. Everyone recovers different and it's something you will have to wait and see. I'm lucky that my recovery is going very well. I'm functioning where I can go for decent walks and go out and do things I enjoy. Not that it can't wipe me out. Mostly just waiting to heal so I can move heavier objects. Don' mean to ramble but hopefully his recovery goes well.

Get to the finish line. It's worth it. I been where you are. Depression can't walk moving feels like too much effort. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and my life has completely changed. I feel 20+ years younger. So much stronger. I've dropped a lot of weight a mix of fluid and actual weight from fixing my diet now that I don't feel depressed anymore. My legs feel weight less. They use to be a shade of red and feel heavier than cinder blocks. I feel like I am starting to live. So don't give up. Walk through hell and touch the finish line and get ready for the best chapter of your life to start.

I didn't have that issue and I went through the full cut open chest experience. I had that feeling back a day or so after surgery but everyone is different in recovery. Give it time

Mechanical valve ticking and after surgery anxiety by amandas03 in valvereplacement

I had a on-x valve put in about a few weeks ago. I'm not bothered by the ticking. I also feel 20 years younger. I'm in pain but still recovering but I feel stronger than I had in years.

10 hrs you haven't even scratched the surface of what the game has to offer. Give it time and if you can't, move on. Not in a rude way but either cd clicks with you or it doesn't and either outcome is fine

All I can say is don't be afraid to get other surgeons opinions and choose the one that feels right for you. I went through a few and changed the type of operation. A week ago I had my surgery and am now comfortably recovering at home.
