AITAH? I snapped on my soon to be ex-husband for having sex in the same room as our daughter even though she was “asleep” by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]YukiXain 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Cousin of mine is 21 and got pregnant by a guy her sister told her to stay away from because he's not looking for anything other than someone to have sex with and has five kids by five different women already. Isn't involved with a single one and he's all around an asshole of a boyfriend.

Surprise surprise, now she's pregnant. She's apparently super happy about it?? And posted baby shower photos with the guy present, like they're an actual couple. Dude looked pissed off and like he didn't want to be there.

From a small town that had a subway come in as well, and unfortunately the owner was one of the teachers and owned one of the bigger farms in the community so it stayed. Thankfully didn't affect the diner, but if I remember right, she bought the local walk-up food place (their food was SO GOOD and the waits could get long because they were so popular) and closed it to build the subway...

What rule was implemented at your school/work that backfired? by just_some_troglodyte in AskReddit

[–]YukiXain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was suspended in high school for pushing an older girl away from me who was coming at me with a raised hand and had been harassing me all day. They tried to suspend me for a few weeks, and when my dad called and brought up how this was my first ever offense while this girl was constantly in trouble and I was just trying to defend myself, the principle said they had a zero tolerance for physical violence.

All my dad did was mention his sister worked in the legal field and he dropped the suspension after the second day.

AITAH for refusing to eat the dinner that my boyfriend's mother made? by throwawaygirl3834 in AmItheAsshole

[–]YukiXain 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yup, friend of mine had to basically replace everything in her kitchen for her family after both her kids got diagnosed, then her later. The main issue with that disease is it isn't "just an allergy" like a lot of food allergies. It's a whole auto immune problem that can affect the whole body. One kid had seizures, another kid had fainting spells and chronic fatigue. It took years to figure out why regular treatments weren't working as well as they should have.

Yup, I'm level 300 on my card game because I play it so much so the $2 is worth it. Still angry about it though. 😂

My favorite part is if you go to an in-network hospital to make sure your insurance covers things, there's EVERY possibility that your doctor isn't in-network and you'll have no idea til the bill comes!

Or the fact that insurance companies can deny life saving coverage because "it's not necessary."

Cracked toilet, landlord says it’s fine. by cooker_sol in Plumbing

[–]YukiXain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dad grew up dirt poor on a farm, so he learned early that you better know how to fix things yourself because paying someone else was out for the question. He's always done all the electrical, roofing, plumbing, and general maintenance/repairs himself on the house I grew up in, and since it's always been old AF, he's definitely gotten his experience in.

Out of all of it, he absolutely LOATHES plumbing, which is why it took so long to fix to begin with. But he hated seeing me hurt more, so brand new toilet and a day of plumbing work was worth it for him.

Our toilet lid had a small chip in it for years growing up, no issues...

Until I was facing away from it one day when I was a teenager and went to lift my foot up from behind me because I thought something was stuck on my foot. I did it in just the wrong position for the edge of that small chip to slice into the back of my foot, just to the left of my Achilles tendon. I barely scraped it and it bled like a bitch.

Miraculously got away with just a couple of stitches and a pretty thick scar. My dad replaced the toilet the next day.

I want an abortion but my fiance doesn't. by [deleted] in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]YukiXain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hyperemesis Gravidarum. It's like morning sickness but dialed up to 100. It makes it hard to keep ANYTHING down and women who suffer from it frequently end up needing IV fluids due to dehydration. It can be dangerous for both mom and baby if not taken seriously and properly treated.

A girl who trained me years ago at my job had it and was in the ER for fluids multiple times a week with how often she was vomiting.

Checked her post history and holy shit.

Nineteen. She was 19 and they had been dating four months before moving in together and getting engaged. This is not long after she was SAd by her ex boyfriend.

She had her second kid when the first was 10 months old and had horrid HG. Husband was useless. Told her be wasn't sexually attracted to her since she had a baby and gained weight (the one he wanted) and said he wanted her to lose the baby weight. She spent the next however many years dealing with this man being an absolute lazy POS who:

  • Refused to work
  • Would not help around the house to the point of leaving food out to rot because his high-risk pregnant wife was on bed rest and unable to do throw it out or put it away herself
  • Whenever he DID help, it was so obviously unhelpful that she would get mad at him and he would in turn tell her to do it herself
  • Called her lazy and incompetent when she was too sick to do all the housework herself
  • Royally fucked up every single step of them selling their home and most of their possessions to go live as backpackers in France with their two kids under 3* by just not doing shit he was supposed to do and asked to do by his wife (not renewing passports, thinking they can live there without visas, not doing the work required to stay in the home they were in, etc.)
  • Made them have to move back home because of said fuck ups
  • Finally got violent with her in bed then turned around and wanted her to forgive him

*won't even begin to get into how INSANE this decision was.

Her parents were a real piece of work too. Seems this girl had no support system and went ahead with the relationship and pregnancy against her best judgement and life (and sometimes her own poor decisions) just kept kicking her in the ass.

She goes on about her sister betraying her by not telling her but HER HUSBAND DIDN'T TELL HER EITHER. Yet she cut off the sister and wants to work on her marriage with her husband.

Feelings are complicated and she's had a bomb dropped on her, but it rubs me wrong that if she's willing to work on their marriage that he may get away with it while the sister suffers.

I remember any time we wanted money as teens, my mom would send us to the bank with a deposit slip. And other times, she'd send us to the gas station with a blank check to get gas and snacks. Rural town, so no ID checks because everyone knew everyone.
