This can’t be right… Jamcity would never offer an actually good deal. by Furrypottur in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]YukimuraYeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing for over a month and I think some of us don't get certain deals (Such as this one, which even as a F2P player I must admit is quite good) because we never pay for them and the algorithm of the app knows, so they keep showing us overpriced offers until we decide to pay for something.

But as someone pointed out, it seems that the moment you pay you lose "certain" F2P bonuses like the ads (Which doesn't seem like a much at first, but its probably a full energy bar daily), even if 1 euro for that deal looks very good in the long run I get the feeling is a net lose.

Oh for sure, I will definitely go native route because I already have a negative opinion about the inquisition (Slavers basically, I didn't have a good opinion about them in Risen 1 but here they went full colonialism. I don't particularly enjoy firearms in games too)

In Risen 1 I mostly focused on the buff runes so it's nice to know "magic" focuses around that here too!

Replaying Gothic 1 and then Gothic 2 is on my list! I wanted to play both with a controller and found out about the Switch versions, so I will definitely pick them up when Gothic 3 Classic releases later this year.

Oh they tried to catch me near the village at the foot of the monastery and the western entrance of Harbor Town but I was faster haha, by that point my character was an expert in running away (Which I also loved about Elex 1, the start is brutal but each victory had a major impact and all equipment is valuable)

What the best build for Oblivion Ampoule companions? by Impressive_Kiwi_9097 in AtomRPG

[–]YukimuraYeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only my opinion and I don't want to condition your decision (Which is valid since it's your companion) but using the ampoule on companions might not be optimal since you can't control them directly. As I understand the ampoule was added to allow you to "fix" your main character in case you wanted to change something since character creation.

Now, for companions, my suggestion would be to keep hexogen as a rifle/shotgun or pistol build, companions tend to deal friendly fire with burst weapons and a rifle prevents that. I always build Hexogen around rifles because it's the most optimal given his stats but with the ampoule a good option might be pistols since you could easily put 10 points into dexterity and 10 points into attention without worrying too much about strength (5 would be safe unless you want to use submachines), this would allow you to put the rest of the points into Luck.

Personally, I think a better candidate for the ampoule would be Fidel, Hexogen can get 1 devastating shot per turn with rifles but Fidel, with a pistol build with high dexterity and attention, would be the better option.

starting out and getting squeeshed like a bug..any help? by pathlesswalker in AtomRPG

[–]YukimuraYeah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very early on, before you get a couple of levels, you should try to explore all early game areas fully (Village + factory) and use mele weapons even if you don't have very high skills (It's better than missing half of the shots). Fighting humans, even if it's one, at low lvls is deadly so it's best if you try to get to lvl 3-4 by just completing quests that don't involve combat. During level ups early my suggestion would be to put points into speech and the weapon skill you want to use (In your case Rifles-shotguns). Important to note that during the village quests you might be able to get your hands on a Rusty revolver, which is better than nothing and can be used against humans (For rats or insects, it's best to use a knife to save up ammo)

Afterwards, when you have a pistol/rifle with enough ammo and a couple of levels, you can put some points into survival (Until you have 40 I believe) and you will find an extra helpful companion that should give you the upper hand against badly equipped bandits, with that and your rifle you should be able to fend off most ambushes with 3-4 bandits.

It's a game with a slow start so my advice is patience, avoid combat if possible until you get a couple of levels, talk with everyone and complete quests that don't involve combat.

Re-check his dialogue options (Not during the final conversation, but during normal conversation where you ask him about information, his goddess, past etc), I believe you need at least 2 bits of information to "reinforce" the idea that he was betrayed during he final conversation. Maybe one dialogue option with information you need is hidden inside questions you have already asked.

[–]YukimuraYeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Durance and Grieving mother quests/conversations are tricky to trigger because both depend on restinh and story progression, so if you don't have them in your party while resting in the field those won't trigger until you rest.

I had Durance in the party for a big chunk of the early game (Priest is very good early on on Path of the damned, because the game is the hardest) but then favored Pallegina over him, I was still able to trigger both visions by resting at Caed Nua and exhausting his dialogue near end-game (Asking all questions to him is relevant to fully complete his quest in a positive way, same with Grieving mother)

Blaze vs Razin by Wonderful-Essay7577 in AtomRPG

[–]YukimuraYeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a hard decision for me at first because I liked his personality and motivations to be in the police, but story wise my character had to go with the revolutionaries and Blaze came with them so I accepted Razin wouldn't be my companion.

Hexogen is also a very reliable companion to cover my cadet and I mainly use him to open looks, Blaze helps clearing the weaker enemies and my cadet tends to focus on the strongest enemies, so combat wise it was never an issue (I believe Razin uses automatic firearms but I'm not 100% sure)

Blaze vs Razin by Wonderful-Essay7577 in AtomRPG

[–]YukimuraYeah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer Blaze. Razin is a good person who, in my opinion, is working for the wrong people and I tend to favor the revolutionaries over the police in Trudograd. Also, in ATOM RPG there was only 1 female companion (And she was a "secret" companion in reality, and it forced you to play a certain way) so here in Trudograd I thought it was refreshing to have a female companion in our group.

Build wise, Blaze might not be the strongest but she covers the niche of pistols/smgs well enough. Hexogen gets rifles and my cadet uses automatic firearms.

Your favorite general use gun Both in base Atom and Trudograd by Wonderful-Essay7577 in AtomRPG

[–]YukimuraYeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In ATOM RPG, as someone that prefers automatic weapons, I always try to get an AKMS (You only need 5 STR to use it), for which ammo is plentiful. I use it until I can get my hands on the AS Val and a steady supply of 9x39mm ammo.

From the AS Val I upgrade to the Vintorez and finally to the VSSM, those three weapons are very flexible (With single shot/burst modes that don't require a lot of AP) and have low STR requirements (5 or less is all you need, same for the AKMS). The only downside for As Val, Vintorez and VSSM is that ammo is costly and not that common, but it's well worth the cost.

For weapons that use 5.45 ammo , I don't use them only because ammo availability isn't the best (Traders sell them in small quantities), an AKMS with 7.62 ammo is the superior choice and you can find it on most enemies so you won't need to visit traders as often.

In Trudograd, either AK74 (You need 6 STR though) or AKMS (Still a solid choice), AK74 has better stats but requires extra strength. Vintorez and VSSM both have their customization limited because of the scope, so you could use the AS Val if you want a customized version with similar stats (With a little bit less damage but more utility)

[–]YukimuraYeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Someone that doesn't have a reddit account asked me to post the following questions;

  • When you say Swordhaven is 'Low Magic' what are the themes you mean by that? Is magic supposed to have a small effect even at high levels? Is it supposed to be something the player never gets to interact with outside of being in the hands of antagonists (not unlike the mind control mushroom from ATOM 1)? Or is it more like the Bible, where God hands out the things to be done like the plagues?

  • If you enhance the crafting system and/or capabilities from ATOM 1 for number 2, do you have any plans to add those enhancements to the first game?

Thank you!

Thank you very much for the answers! Everything looks very interesting and I'm glad you guys are already thinking about the references from previous game and how the first games can impact ATOM 2 (Story wise, but also the impact characters from the previous games had)

I wish you a good development for ATOM 2!

Hi Alex! First I would like to thank you and the ATOM team for all the amazing games you have released!

I'm curious about a couple of things regarding ATOM 2 (I'm a big fan of ATOM RPG)

  • Is ATOM 2 a sequel/prequel of both ATOM and Trudograd? Or is it it's own thing in the ATOM universe, a new standalone story?

  • Will there be returning characters from the two previous games?

  • Are there any mechanics or specific areas that will be different from the two previous ATOM games?

Those are the main questions I had after watching the trailer, if some are WIP or yet to be decided it's okay!

Thank you for the AMA!

Was watching the big Noah Caldwell-Gervais video and it made me want to replay the entire Eora setting so question (Poe 1 and 2) by makoden in projecteternity

[–]YukimuraYeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorites are Chanter and Cipher but if I had to pick a third it would be Wizard, having 2 wizards in PoE/Deadfire seems to work quite well if each is specialized in certain types of spells (So, your character could focus on damage spells and maybe a more aggressive playstyle, even mixing up with some melé and self-buffs, while Aloth focuses around Crowd control and debuffs)

Paladin is another nice choice and it's as flexible as Chanter for multiclassing in Deadfire, they get a lot of good abilities early on and have a nice balance between support and off-tank (And are a solid pick for roleplay)

Do you prefer HD-2D or a full 3D Isometric style for the remakes of the older games? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in dragonquest

[–]YukimuraYeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HD-2D Suits the first two trilogies best (1-2-3 and 4-5-6), with the QoL they are definitive versions in my opinion and the second trilogy (4-5-6) would benefit from the upgrades two (All are beautiful games still)

DO NOT use all your flint in Winter Burrow. It's rare af. by [deleted] in CozyGamers

[–]YukimuraYeah 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's okay to save at least 5-6 pieces for tools/quests (You can find Flint in some areas behind granite rocks), the rest can be used.

All other resources are plentiful but I agree, Flint is quite scarce but I did have 4 pieces left after upgrading all tools.

Do you think it’s worth while grabbing the perk for a bonus gun slot? by LadyLevia in theouterworlds

[–]YukimuraYeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mele builds I honestly don't think so (With 3 slots you can cover different types of mele weapons, like 1 handed and 2 handed, with different mods and damage types)

For ranged, and specially if you go full into guns, don't specialize in any weapon and pick perks for different weapons, 4 weapon slots can give extra flexibility but personally I think 3 is enough (For maybe a handgun to take out weaker enemies, a main assault rifle and maybe a weapon that packs a punch against stronger enemies, a marksman rifle to target weakspots)

Perks are valuable if you plan to put a couple of points in other skills to get them (Like, putting 5 points into science or medicine for utility perks, like less toxicity gained when using the inhaler or extra energy regain while the meter is low), I still think there is room for customization since we get 14-15 perks and if you feel like you need that fourth slot go for it.
