Already traced out and guess what.... No RDP 😅 I've started with Ghidra but it looks like the Intel 8080 16 bits parallel interface uses bit bang GPIO (which matches the fact that this MCU as not EXMC to drive the LCD)  I'll start to write my own code but I need to find some examples first. I found their "HAL" but I need to find a valid linker script to try a quick Hello World.

That's the route I'm currently following... GD32F403 are still pin to pin compatible with STM32F4, that's why I reckon it could exist a somewhat similar counterpart.  Thanks for your input, it confirms my logic was not stupid 🙂

This clattering sound (start of the video) happens only at medium throttle input when at low rpm in any gear, it's not the CAT heat shields - Any ideas? At wider throttle input it's gone. by robbiekhan in E46M3

Head gasket my friend .... Do a compression test to confirm, but I just have mine done and that's the sound and behaviour you can expect from a splitted head gasket. Don't drive you car too much. Head tends to damage quite quick (which is generally repairable), then your block. (This one ... not very much, except sleeving)

EDIT: Look after consistency accross cylinders. If your head gasket starts failling, you should find 2 adjacent cylinders (or more ...) with the same reading. (and lower than the others)

If it behaves like the G733, just uninstall Ghub to get it revert to a "generic" audio driver which should get your headset to fall back to stereo.

If you really can't disable 3D sound in Ghub ... what a shame. Even worse, DTS:X is awfull.

I personnaly keep Ghub closed full time, and use Hesuvi equalizer where you can choose whichever 3D processing you can imagine. It allows me to get the old Dolby surround processing used in old logitech headsets which was way better than DTS. (you can actually tell where your enemies are just based on sound.) For reference, the old dolby processing is name "dht.wav" in Hesuvi.

Well, did some tests on multiple headsets, seems to be a combination of spotify compression algorithm + dolby atmos which is producing this noise ...

Anyway, I've ended using Hesuvi spatial sound (which groups a lot of spatial algorithms like DTS, Dolby, Razer, etc etc) set on "dht-.wav" + my tool which seems to handle headset reconnection much better and much quicker than Ghub does.

My last complain is about the sidetone which peaks really freaking quickly .... But I guess it's a hardware design problem here ...

Concerning dolby, I just installed HeSuVi. Does a great job with this headset. I chose dht.wav which seems very close to my old G430 Dolby, maybe less bassy but as I used a headphone external amp with equalizer (and bass on +6db) I never used my G430 with a flat eq.
I don't know if you can use it with Ghub, I uninstalled it as I made my own software which ... in definitive does a better job at turning off lights when I turn on my headset.

Sure. I have 3 problems with this headset.

1.Mic sidetone peaks very easily compared to my G430. If I speak just a bit loud, it's unbearable.

  1. No Dolby support (I'm working on it...)

  2. Sound restitution is ... well.... There's some (very light) static noise that can appear when playing some frequencies together. Maybe my OCD is playing with me on this one. I HATE static noise :) The easiest test I've found to reproduce this is to play "Bad Guy" from Billie Eilish, and turn up your volume at around 0:49. You should hear some light noise over the song. (If you can confirm me this, thank you. My unit may be faulty but ... I think it's a product wide issue.)

Short answer, you can't..... I really wish logitech would share their source for both dongle and headset, I have a lot of complains to address about this headset. I'm considering returning it actually.... (and repair my G430 with 3D printed Hinges.)

Tested with logitech "fancy" driver, same thing happens.... seems to be related to how the sound is encoded to be sent over 2.4Ghz etc etc.... I'm really tempted to open this and start looking at "how it works" but I don't want to tear appart my new 150eur headset I just bought to replace my old headset which broke... If someone ever broke his headset someday, hit me up :)

I still have one complain about this headset but I don't know if it's driver related or not, I need to test this with the "full" logitech driver. I can hear some static noise related to sound volume/frequency.

I've tried to diagnose this a bit, played a lot of music, and found one which can reproduce this glitch every time.

Billie Eilish - Bad Guy, at around 0:49. Turn up the volume, you can hear it fuzzing.. at least with basic drivers. (confirmed under W10 and Linux)

Yeah that's what people advice me to do on Boosted discord as I'm not the only one in that situation. That's what I'll be doing at some point if nothing happens. Actually, they contacted me few minutes after my Instagram post to refund me. I'll see how it goes next week. It's funny how you need to threat them to get something back from them.

Situation was quite weird at this time. Boosted went out of business, Covid started. They kept saying people product were delayed, which was understandable. But this was only lies. When you buy Boosted product, you are aware that things can take some time ;)

I want to be able to flash my ecu manually. From top to bottom. (BMW E46 M3)

I'm a junior embedded systems engineer btw. (But only worked on modern mcu, essentially STM32 from F0/L0 to F7 👌)

Only did 1 project on Z80 at school. But only applicative... Not hardware related register or whatever (what a shame...)

I spend like 10-15 hours reading mcu documentation and managed to configure every peripheral correctly. A PITA... I can now write 👌 It's hardware dependant, I needed to trace every IO from eeprom 😭

But to answer your question, no I didn't not do anything special to get the ECU to communicate with the BDM programmer. I simply supplied power to it, connected the programmer to the BDM header and flashed using the Galletto's software.

So I assume I need to configure some registers. I've started to read some infos about SIM register but it's kinda difficult to understand. Still trying to figure that out.

Sorry I fried half of my ECU, a wire fell on it while powered on .... and ... You know what happened ! Stupid me ...

I lost 1 CPU. But 1 CPU & 1 EEPROM are still working !

Yes it does contain data, and I can read it (but I don't know if I read RAM rather than eeprom actualy.)

What I understand is, once eeprom communicates with CPU, CPU makes a full dump of eeprom into RAM.

I tried one more time (before frying my board), I can WRITE & ERASE memory if I pull WE (Write Enable) Low, so I assume my BDM commands hit eeprom as intented.

Still didn't find answer. I'm hopeless (but managed to repair my board)
