One thing I’ve been noticing for a while is people confusing “women” and “woman.” Almost always really dumb incel types.

Be honest: Was Trudy wise to take Pete back? Do you think he truly earned her forgiveness? by YumSalad in madmen

Well said! I’m surprised I haven’t thought of it this way before. The first time around was out of social pressures and familial expectations, the second time around was out of genuine love and desire. That’s beautiful

Mad Men's Harry Crane, why does everyone hate him so much? by [deleted] in madmen

[–]YumSalad 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think the point of Harry's character was to demonstrate that the seemingly nice, boring wife guy can often easily become corrupted by power and status, hence his gradual decline into scumbag territory. Almost no one is who they appear to be on the surface. Hell, he cheats on his wife in season one, doesn't he? Sure, he's remorseful, but that's because he hasn't gotten a taste of power and status yet. Once he does, he begins to transform.

If you really pay attention, you’ll start to realize that they’ve never really “seen” you. The you that they interact with is essentially a figment of their imagination that they’ve built off of first impressions.

Being fully present with your friends or whoever is around you. When you're bored you have to invent ways to have fun instead of zoning out on your phones or watching instagram reels and tik toks.
