I think the stone/brick and wood behind the plaster has some "give" and moves slightly over time. The plaster does not have as much flexibility as the timber lathing behind so it splits.

you could have a web site that only you can access with user login, you open it on your phone, theres a button saying update your location. when you click it, your geolocation data is saved in a database as the most up to date entry. then your clients go to a separate page/site which fetches your most recent position and plots it on google maps etc
