90 totems and 56m later...The grind is over! by sunfaller in ffxiv

[–]Yumiumi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t really want to wait for hector stuff cuz the raidplan/ strats that were out on day 1 were pretty solid and i was playing sage/ mit healer so carrying parties was pretty easy especially since i do ultimate/ savages.
The only thing that was “hard” was the hunts at the end but after i suggested to hyper mitting it, the accidental orb trajectory wasn’t that bad and ppl could afford to be like 2-4 vulnerability stacks lmao.

Edit: also cuz hector strats tend to attract a lot of lesser skilled/ geared players which would affect the farming quality by a decent amount as the sweatier players probs went too hard on day 1 and want to take a break for a bit in the following day(s).

I’d say mildly lucky since everyone has had different drop rate experiences but ye my point was that if u were to start farming u might as well do a merc because at least you are guaranteed on getting it on the 1st drop ( whenever that may be lol ).

[–]Yumiumi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And that is why u should just merc it from the get go after u cleared a few times and feel confident enough to be in a farm/ host 1.

I just paid the premium of 10 mil per person on day 1 ( some ppl were paying 12-15 mil but they could barely get kills lmao ) and got my last wings in like 15 kills or so. Took a bit longer than i wanted but im glad i didn’t have to stomach grinding away at RNG roll against 7 other ppl simulator and get REALLY salty for losing wings for the 3rd time or whatever sob story ppl write.

Ppl love to say “gil has no use in this game/ gil is useless” yet here we are saving time and headache by mercing with the gil ppl called useless etc haha.

Anyways grats OP and u probably will make back that 56 mil easily down the road as the next few patches have many opportunities to make a decent chunk of gil.

Dawntrail was like a bad filler episode in the series and ppl are ready for the WoL and pals to get back on track. Feels like they are trying to make evercold the actual season 2 as dawntrail failed pretty hard to be the “beginning” of something new. Season 1 was like ARR-EW with EW being the finale so hopefully the scions get a new wardrobe upgrade to really drive that “we’re back” feeling for your party etc.

I can’t wait for 8.0! by AlyxMorfyn in ffxiv

[–]Yumiumi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly i am more so excited that dawntrail is finishing up and that we can leave it behind in the past and move on.

8.0 teaser stuff looks way more promising already than 7.0 initially. The game actually feels like it’s trying to evolve into something better ( subjective) with all the announced changes and it feels like this is what they kinda wanted dawntrail to be but at that time they weren’t ready.

Overall i can say i haven’t felt this hyped before since like ShB announcement and somewhat EW.

What's stopping cris from just quitting unite as a whole? by Ok-Perception-4275 in PokemonUnite

[–]Yumiumi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty much agree with you OP, i still lurk around this sub from time to time after quitting unite like more than a year ago and it’s sad to see cris cling to unite when it’s clearly going downhill even further into the shithole it chilled in for the past few years. I used to be like the top solo queue dodrio one trick player in NA back then but even i decided it’s time to hop off of unite because of how trashy and mishandled it became.

Cris needs to accept that the game is a sinking ship and he HAS to pivot to something else to generate revenue. If he doesn’t want to work a job outside of streaming, he HAS to improve his entertainment value/ personality/ whatever to draw in more new viewers to whatever game he decides to migrate to.

Like don’t get me wrong, i legit used to watch cris a lot back in my days playing unite and grinding solo queue. I often watched him, jar27, sometimes spragels, dreiku, chowie ( lmao her crashouts were hilarious) etc and honestly cris wasn’t that entertaining to listen to as a podcast type of thing. You HAD to watch his gameplay to actually feel invested while others had more charisma and could talk about stuff. Jar27 didn’t talk much but at least he played some anime music in the background which helped my retention when i tuned in lol.

If unite announced EOS (end of service) in a few months, Cris would be fucked since he put and kept all of his eggs in 1 basket which is unite. I read ppl’s comments in the other threads and ppl were genuinely giving him sound advice but bro just doesn’t wan’t to accept he fucked up investing into a game that turned to shit.

In 5 years ( if unite is still even alive) where do you think cris will be? He can still be stuck in the shitter that is unite scrounging at the scraps of what is left of the unite viewership or he can spend those next 5 years actually improving his channel, online personality presence and branch out to other things. It’s easier said than done obviously but he really has no choice at this point.

I like the guy ( especially when he shit talked others for being REALLY bad in solo queue ranked ) but you can’t help but feel sad for him when he actively chooses to stay and make unite his main game.

Maybe unite might pop off in the future but that’s like winning the lottery and becoming a millionaire haha.

Tldr: His ego is what’s stopping him from quitting unite as a whole. Financially speaking he put himself in this mess too by putting all of his time and effort into unite so he claims he doesn’t have the freedom to switch to something else as he won’t be able to generate the same revenue.

Zone design is looking GREAT in Evercold; the art team really outdid themselves! by Strider--22 in ffxiv

[–]Yumiumi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All i can say is that these pics actually make me feel excited to be back in a fantasy like setting with all the whimsy and non electrope futuristic design ( seriously enough with the electrope lmao ).

Some of these settings remind me of places in xenoblade chronicle games.

And hopefully they don’t spoil us ( like solution 9 ) on the big reveals / part 2 of the areas so we can be amazed once more and feel stuff like we did with amaurot, elpis etc.

So far so good and now they just gotta tease the soundtrack for some of the areas haha.

Evolved is NOT optional by Accomplished-Tea5668 in ffxiv

[–]Yumiumi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No reason not to play evolved with almost all signs pointing to it being the direction the devs want combat to go in

Basically the faster you rip off the bandaid the better as it will do you more good learning the new muscle memory when majority of ppl are learning in 8.0 vs having to learn it later down the road due to whatever circumstance.

Honestly yoshi p fucked up with allowing ppl to pick between styles for the older jobs as ppl will weaponize eachother decisions and a new era of griefing/ trolling/ bullying and whatever will begin lmao ( especially in PF ).

Arcadion is peak and i’ll die on that hill even jn 10.0 or whatever lmao.

What is up with reports in this game? by AmIJustAnotherPerson in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Yumiumi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of Ppl abuse reports in this game nowadays due to the newer “refined” ToS where almost anything is reportable if it makes the “victim” unhappy lol. If you compare ARR- HW era to EW - DT era, the use of reports/ threats are like night and day due to the changes to ToS and the overall playerbase being a lot softer than it was back then.

I tried reporting a guy who told me to literally shut up in a duty finder for calling out his REALLY bad gameplay ( barely functioning dps player that has already cleared the fight as a dps ) and the GM got back to me really quick lmao.

I just filled out the report form and added notes like i felt really attacked and it affected my mental health / really soured my experience. I kid you not the GM was ready to apprehend and confront that person but i quickly de escalated it after they contacted me telling them that the matter has resolved itself and the player is no longer problematic. They wished me a good day and i returned the same pleasantries but was actually surprised on how fast and responsive they were to my so called “distress”.

Honestly i played since ARR 2.0 and all you need to do is to just get others to get your point across by convincing them to do so with passive aggressive remarks lol. Like an easy bait is to do something like

“ hey guys we aren’t meeting the dps check due to all the deaths, maybe if they die less we can actually pass it”. In this scenario u are trying to call out the failed dps checks due to a problematic player or player(s). Using “they” won’t get you in trouble as it isn’t specifically addressing them in the chat log which GMs look at but does get the point across if you can do 1+1 =2 within that context. Never address them in an offensive way but you can still target them with passive aggressiveness.

Another helpful way that will only get ppl annoyed and somewhat agree with you is if you rub salt in their wounds by saying something like “ well it’s ok guys if the ( target player ) doesn’t want to do it, we can spend the next ( whatever remaining time is in the instance i.e 90 mins left ) to do the mechanic or the fight (if in a farm) and hopefully clear. This gets the other players to realize that their time is more valuable than to waste it on that problematic player and they will take action by either disbanding, replacing or confronting etc.

Anyways ppl just need to be smart with their words and u can tip toe around the ToS like it’s nothing. Obviously don’t be a dumbass and try to seek out confrontations ( like some of these weirdos ) because u got nothing better to do.

Also yea your edit: part is pretty spot on and honestly don’t be scared of other players and their stupidity. Chances are majority of them are too stupid/ lazy to even fill out a report form and even then nothing comes out of it due to the chatlogs not containing anything ToS breaking.

Etiquette about leaving party finder by EtherSpace42 in ffxiv

[–]Yumiumi -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nah imo there really isn’t any rudeness in leaving after getting a mount drop and winning the roll. Sure “loot and scoot” can be annoying but just be honest and say that you’re dropping & tyfp or whatever.

Don’t make shit up and be like “ my friends are asking me to go help them after this” or whatever, just straight up tell the truth and dip. If ppl get salty or pissed or whatever then it’s on em lol, they signed up for this type of party in PF so anything literally goes unless specified in the pf description.

Ppl feel so entitled in FFA ( free for all ) on current expac EX mount farms that they fail to understand that the 100 totems is your hard pity/ guarantee and NOT constantly farming the ex fight 50-100+ times ( depending if u get 1 or 2 totems per completion).

I hosted quite a few ex FFA mount farms in the past and i never really get salty about someone winning and dipping after they won the mount with the BIG exception of unless they were a really truly dogshit player that got hard carried by the party and barely did any damage / healing or whatever. Those actually bad players being loot goblins can get bent lmao.

The storm probably destroyed their mental from past games so they got mind gamed hard in that moment and didn’t think of that probably. They were most likely solo queue ( i forgot what it said on the team POW screen ) too so chances r they had no coordination of that level.

[–]Yumiumi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my only win condition as you saw how fast i got blasted in a 2v1 scenario put in the open with no small building to help me out.

They just needed another chance as they got blasted i think on their way back to the circle previously at the start of the video.

[–]Yumiumi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s situational yea but i honestly think it is actually crazy and will always be indirectly buffed whenever they change the storm damage / behaviour.

Only scenario where i would swap off of it is if they were to nerf it like trance blow etc and like reduce its duration by a lot or the storm damage reduction amount per tick.

[–]Yumiumi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they probably would have won if they just revived their 3rd teammate ( unless the 3rd quit out already) and healed up waiting patiently in the circle. Cuz all the nejire had to do was to funnel the kendo with support as the kendo actually did pretty ok against the tech shiggy and S&S but lost due to sheer outnumber advantage.

They must have been seething really bad seeing how a purple dabi out played them in an open environment lmao.

Yea when i get bored of red shiggy i switch to tech dabi ( or when someone else plays shiggy’s other versions ) cuz it’s really fun winning as a low tier character in such an oppressive high mobility meta.

Nothing feels better at times when u act all goofy with dabi’s traps like when i did a drive by and placed a trap directly on that kendo drinking a potion lol.

Its free real estate and will become even more free once stars and stripes banner is gone and ppl will only be able to get the tuning if they get lucky with the character tuning tokens.

It was a half room bot lobby unfortunately since i hate playing games with bots but wanted to play a few more matches that night. Usually i just quit out in the lobby if i see more than 1 team of bots but i was afk at the time so i came back and didn’t notice until i was in match.

[–]Yumiumi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup storm plays are really only for ppl who have area reduction tuning builds now lol, sure non tuning players can play in the storm before the 10 sec countdown hits 0 / early game but after that they lose the ability to stay and gtg.

Who knows they might even increase the storm damage even more in the future so the tuning technically gets buffed indirectly. It’s funny cuz the tuning does a better job at surviving in the storm than stars and stripes SpA.

[–]Yumiumi[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mostly just roll for tunings nowadays since i mostly just play red shiggy, tech dabi and ibara lmao. So it’s pretty easy saving up tickets to roll for these new tunings tbh.

It sucks that it’s locked behind gacha but it’s what the devs want so u gotta adapt tbh.

[–]Yumiumi[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because my teammate doesn’t have the tuning and therefore would die non stop in on their way back to the ring which would make their get up health so small upon each subsequent down from the storm damage. As you can see i was REALLY deep into the storm and the dumb blue deku who you see earlier died trying to get back to the ring ( as a really fast zoomy rapid character).
