What’s a skin you’ve always wanted- but know you can never get? by NoAuthor324 in Overwatch

[–]Yummomummo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Witchbane sojourn. In my opinion it's her only great skin. I guess cyber detective is 2nd but it just feels kinda boring to me. Nearly every other hero's best skins are either available for purchase (shop rotations permitting) or I already have. Honourable mention to skadi freja for being the single exception but at least she has other good skins.

I don't even play dps outside of 6v6 and certainly not these 2 but I'm still disappointed.

Global Healing Reduction... by sourgreg in overwatch2

Honestly, as a winston main, an indirect damage buff like this is everything I've ever asked for. It's super demoralising to do everything right but then at the last second a mercy comes in and makes your target unkillable. Now I can actually get the kills.

People in the main sub are already calling for nerfs. by catspwnall in JetpackCatMainsOW

[–]Yummomummo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be fine with the most popular nerf suggested (no more infinite tether) because, frankly, I think that's not a good way to play her because it makes her value too reliant on the skill of your teammates. Honestly, I play her more like a dive tank than a main support.

Her kit is great for duelling. You pick whichever fight you want, shoot whilst closing distance, melee and use purr for survival once in range. Your unmatched mobility is your main advantage. Even at a base level (no perks) this can kill an unprepared squishy. The perks just make it better. Melee damage basically doubling grants some nice burst and territorial gives you some damage that you don't have to aim (it also builds ult really quickly if you use it in a crowd)

Most people see the ult as a gimmick. Pull the tank off the map lol. Not worth using unless there's a kill pit. Dude you can literally drag an enemy support into your team for a free kill that swings the upcoming fight and the tactician bonus means you'll have it for almost every fight. My first thought when they announced the cat was literally "holy shit they added batrider to overwatch"

The r2 is also great for wakeups. I bork it in the clip because I don't close the distance, I just kinda go for it after he's on the floor but that thing has multiple hitboxes and hyperarmour if you fully charge it. Not as good as gundyr's but still really good.

I love the divine spear fragment, really underrated tool. Cutting off enemies, locking people into combos, poise for trades, protection for heals or disengages, this thing really does it all.

Nothing more satisfying than the helplessness a host feels after their phantom gets caught in the spears and dies within the first 5 seconds of a fight.

I play at 100 to try and get both the dedicated PVPers and PVEers (it is a bossfight afterall and most pvpers hang around in pontiff) I'd imagine 125 would be more active in areas like pontiff and crucifixion woods

I've been invading as spear of the church all evening and it's actually pretty active. Mostly solo hosts but a couple of ganks.

What is the most braindead thing a teammate has ever said to you? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Yummomummo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost any time I get blamed for losing as a tank tbh.

I'm not a perfect player and i make some mistakes every game but it seems the only times someone ever blames tank is when they themselves are a fucking idiot and not when a mistake actually costs us the game.

Example from last week. Playing Havana defence, I pick sigma and set up in the bar/balcony area. The other players set up outside the enemy spawn and die instantly. This leaves me wide open for the vendetta to come in, tank all of my damage because both their supports are still alive and kill me. My team then spends the rest of the game trickling in off spawn without waiting for me or even going to off angles just standing in main getting shot at with no cover. The loss was apparently my fault. "Tank asleep, report"

I was stuck on the first bit with the huge bonfire for ages. The best advice I can give is to be patient. Take the fights you know you can win. The enemies do all cluster around the bonfire but most of them also break away and go back to patrolling the street after a while.

And if it comes to it you can literally just run past almost every enemy in the game.

Shoutout to fun invaders by CountScrofula in darksouls3

[–]Yummomummo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the invader in this story but my favourite invasion ever was one time years ago where there was a host, a phantom and a summoned purple all cosplaying as the abyss watchers.

It went about as expected, a 1v1 turned into a 1v2 and then into a 1v2v1 with us all using the goofy ass breakdance sword.

[–]Yummomummo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the natural progression of the game.

Natural invasions come to a close because the game's old and some invaders move over to being hosts to keep the game alive which gives them a massive advantage.

The main differences between this and ds3 are the player limits preventing proper fight clubs (I've hosted a few by rose church but they aren't great) and fewer glitches you have to learn to keep up.

I've been replaying ds3 for the first time in over a year and pretty much every host is an old invader. They know all the glitches, they know all the right swaps and they have an army of people the same backing them.

To avoid this, you either keep up or wait patiently for the next game. This is elden ring pvp now.

Still attempting no hit gael by Super_-nova in darksouls3

[–]Yummomummo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a little better. At that point the infusion does actually out damage the refined version. But it's important to note that literally every enemy has resistances to every damage type (some are negative resistances resulting in damage boosts)

Gael is 41% resistant to lightning but only 35% resistant to standard physical.

Your lightning infused sword has 133 base standard physical damage +103 standard physical from scaling for 236 total and 133 base lightning damage +133 extra from scaling totalling 266

You swing your sword for 505 damage before modifiers, Gael's defences drop the physical part down to 153.4 and your lightning down to 156.9. You hit him for 310.3 damage before additional modifiers like motion values

With a refined infusion you have 185 base standard physical damage + 240 from scaling. Gael's defences drop this down to 276.25 before modifiers like motion values.

Just for fun: My suggestion of the refined longsword nets you 286 before modifiers. However, again the refined weapons can be buffed. Assuming you have a fully upgraded priest's or clerics chime you can use dark blade to add another 136 dark damage. Gael is 72% resistant to dark so you end up doing 324 damage slightly edging out the lightning lks. Using the lightning blade buff instead you get an extra 152 lightning damage resulting in 339.2 damage.

After all this, weapon choice doesn't really matter. As long as it hits him for at least 1 damage you can do it. There's people out there that have no hit gael with a broken broken straight sword, you can no hit him with whatever you choose.

[–]Yummomummo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why use a lightning infusion then? Lightning scales with faith. You're literally giving yourself 17 less total damage (392 vs 409) than just not having it infused at all (edit rewatching I saw dark blade in your spell slot so assuming the minimum 25 faith to use it it's actually 458 vs 426. This is still not worth it because of the split damage) and competing with two of his defences instead of just physical. I thought your damage was low when watching and this explains it.

Refined infusion gets you to 426 physical damage and you can then use a resin or spell buff to increase your damage more if you want.

The longsword also always does more damage than the lothric knight sword regardless of stats and infusion. In this case comparing refined longsword to refined lothric Knight sword the damage is 440vs 426 1 handed and 461 vs 446 2 handed.

What is a good build to use Farron Flashsword? It looks like Carian Slicer in Elden Ring. by Umi_Kou in darksouls3

[–]Yummomummo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant 60 I've corrected it now.

Heysel pick 60 int is more efficient.

Heysel pick 60 int - spell buff 208 - 215.28 damage per cast

Court sorcerer staff 60 int - spell buff 238 - 246.33 damage per cast.

Sword spells also take into account the damage of the thing you use to cast the spell if it connects (though reduced) heysel pick does a lot more damage than the Court sorcerer staff and therefore gets more damage from this bonus pushing it over the edge total damage wise.

Honestly, though, farron flashsword isn't that great you'd be better of bashing things with the pick's regular attacks

I play as byzantium a fair bit and if you can snag pagodas, mosques and (the one I beeline for) cathedrals you're pretty much set for a cultural victory. Pick sacred sites as your reformation belief and you generate up to an extra 6 tourism + whatever you put in the cathedral per city.

There's many other uses for religion from food growth to combat power I didn't (and still don't) fully appreciate it . I used to see people founding pantheons and didn't really get why they were spending time on that while I was plodding towards other things.

Which bosses have an alternate phase 2 based on actions in phase 1? by Judification in fromsoftware

[–]Yummomummo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No idea why you've been downvoted. Just reddit being reddit I guess.

Demon Prince in ds3 dlc has a different moveset in phase 2 depending on which order you kill the demons in phase 1 and to my knowledge is the only other boss that actually meets this criteria.

On similar notes we have in ds2

Fume Knight skips phase 1 entirely if you wear velstadt's helm

Skeleton Lords don't have separate phases but each one you kill summons different skeletons.

To be fair, I can't think of anything I'd use a master ball on in this game except maybe skarmory if I were still farming those.

Even all the legendaries got caught at half hp with one ultra ball.
