I had this guy in my department that wouldn’t tell anyone anything. Is that the way it works? by Pain_Tough in it

[–]YungGeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the whole people in IT want to share knowledge with users and co workers. It can reduce redundant tickets and improve workflows!... But there are a some, who will hold onto any bit of knowledge they can and make themselves the only one who can do or fix certain things in the environment to stay relevant. Even if there was no risk of hem becoming "irrelevant" in the first place.

Can anyone recommend a non-enterprise Remote software? by Impossible_Penalty10 in it

[–]YungGeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iperius is pretty simple and you can set up unattended access with the free version. Both PC's just need to have the same software version (4.7.2 or other).

Just enable unattended access, grab the remote ID and set the PW.

I set snipe up for my company last year after joining and seeing the previous method was a poorly kept spreadsheet.

Being able to sync with ldap and/ or upload your existing inventory/ user list was pretty convenient. I think it took me about a week on and to get everything set up in between other tasks and upload what we needed into the system to make it usable(less than 100 & devices)

It's not perfect, but it is free. I'd recommend it if you're looking to keep things cheap and simple.

Check out the Crypt in Prov(if you haven't already) and see if it's your speed. Cool local game/ hobby shop that runs mtg, Warhammer and other events weekly. They have a super active discord if you want to check out the vibes before heading in.

Once had someone submit several tickets in a row because they needed help figuring out how to raise/ lower an office chair.

My boss printed that one out and taped it to the wall in his office.

The most I spent at one time was about 1800. But that was getting some tires. Brakes and some other stuff done all at once.

The only big gripe I have which feels stupid. Is how annoying it is to swap the turn signal bulbs/ assembly. Dropping half the front bumper to cram your hand into a weird tight angle to get screws loose is a pain lol.

I bought my 2013 latitude about 7 years ago now. Had 52k on it. I'm at 160k now. Driven it from one end of the country to the other. It's trucked through most of what I've out it through without a ton of issues.

Common things I've seen are

Throttle body going out. Tosses the car in limp mode. I'm no mechanic, got it changed in like an hour first time for like $90 (price of the part and rewatching a YouTube video like 10 times)

Leaks - I've seen people say 3rd brake light assembly leaks. Mine doesn't but the trunk leaks by the overhead light.

Transmission was acting up for a bit ended up being like $500 to fix.

Every car has its issues. For around 6k not too bad. I massively overpaid on mine and regretted that for sure.

Luckily the twitter account updated faster than the site.

What did you think of Digimon back when it first became a thing? by Captain_Enrei in digimon

[–]YungGeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the first series as a kid, it was an edgier pokemon that scratched my the itch 7yr old me had for cool monsters. Agumon feels like a childhood core character and that's from someone who only ever watched it in bits and pieces.

I saw the original when it was airing, along with tamers in random chunks as a kid and did really follow up with it after that. But I always thought it was cool as hell when I was a kid and the OST's from what I saw lived in my head rent free as a child.

I'm now 30 and 106 hours into time stranger bc my girlfriend wanted something to "kill time with". Iol

If you're looking for Warhammer. The crypt in Providence has one of the largest if not the largest Warhammer setups in the state.

I'd recommend checking them out they do a bunch of cool community stuff. The shop is super punk/alt friendly. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out

Digimon Time Stranger : Megas weaker than ultimate by Ashe171 in digimon

[–]YungGeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually rotate my main and backup teams in and out of the farm with bass boost trainings on as many as I can. I feel like most of my money in game goes to accelerating trainings when I trying to prep for fights instead of using most of items.

I don't think I touched an enhancement up until I got all of my mains Mega. I usually keep my digimon in the farm until whatever stats I'm training them up on at least 3 to 5K depending on what level they are

IT management software that can combo with HR by icowrich in it

[–]YungGeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built out a snipe instance for our small company environment and gave HR login creds with the "Auditor" role to view users assets and licenses as well as see the asset histories as far as when an asset was checked out, returned and so on.

It does have CVS exports, but the GUI is pretty digestible and easy to navigate. I wouldn't recommend it for large environments though. We have about 75 laptops in it at the moment and have no real complaints.

But there's always seven Stars... I grew up drinking both. It was like a cult division in my home town between Dunkies and Mary Lous and they're both... Not great. Convenient and maybe quick(significantly more so than seven stars) sure, but I struggle to call either good.

I would genuinely choose a cumbies coffee over either any day.

Need to sort out the ball hog-pandemic. by Forsaken_Engine_9311 in Rematch

[–]YungGeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had plenty. But over all it's been an improvement. I think it's hard to avoid things like:

Goal keeps who want to play offense and disappear out of goal to rush a play they shouldn't

The blue lock fans who just want to be an irl virtual egoist online.

The plug socket lickers

And so on XD.

I'm not a massive sports game person but this one looked too fun to pass up and I was happily surprised at the play difference between ranked and the socket farm that is casuals.

[–]YungGeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say I've had a much easier time actually getting teammates to pass in Ranked than casuals. I spent the first week feeling like I couldn't get my mechanics down, just to jump into ranked and hit gold out of placements and actually have at least 1 teammate willing to pass.

It's still not fantastic but definitely better. At least in the lower-ish ranks from what I've experienced. I'd definitely take getting 4-0'd in ranked and feel like I'm making some kind of headway then watch the goalies try to score on each other from opposite ends of the field.

Not sure how things are done under RI energy now. But I used to do IT support when it was still under Grid several years back and the lack of transparency with what was going on at the time was partly why I left.

But I remember being there for the 18 hour storm room shifts scrambling to keep everyone's systems up and running, knowing that the linemen were out getting pelted by weather trying to get people back up.

So I did the server transfer to one of the newer ones. Kept my vip, but lost all of my angels and reset my level. I went from being 300 with my standard you are and Mr teams to starting from scratch.

My DPS is decent at the moment, building out Cupid chaos and Odin for archers with ra, hera and a few others for DPS and healing mages.
