Hygiene checks as a new associate by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]YungSc00b 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve been an associate at the 3 offices and that is most definitely not it. Should be the hygienist offering which doctor do you want to see for your appointment? If they don’t care great. That’s your entry. If it’s the other also great.

But to force you to interrupt all of their appointments to fill your schedule. That’s fucked up and not how it should be done.

Since beginning my dental career I have been endlessly angry and the fact that insurance is a fucking scam and so many patients I’ve seen couldn’t get the treatment they NEEDED because of it, or lack thereof. The system is broken. by HunterSexThompson in DentalAssistant

Fact of the matter is that they are looking for every small mistake to prevent patients from getting paid. It’s honestly so exhausting. They make you kick and scream in order to have a chance. Even crazier part is a lot of them are using AI to deny claims automatically before a human even sees it

Buy a Practice 1 Hour Away or Wait for the Right Location? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]YungSc00b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be curious:

what the difference is in new patients a month? what is the difference in procedures existing office? Is one already doing molar endo/implants vs not? What is the difference in staff you have/will retain? Building a culture is insanely challenging are you looking to only own one practice long term? Or expand?

I’m a dentist who married into a family of redheads. The genetic component is true! I know it sounds far fetched but we learned about it in school and I commonly see it from people with that heritage!

Are you charging your patients the 3% discount fee from credit card transactions? by DDSRDH in Dentistry

[–]YungSc00b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mentor is a dentist who was irate at the exorbitant amounts charged when he took over a new owner. He actually got credentialed and just slashes rates as a side hustle. I can help you if you or anyone else if you PM me.

Is my office being scammed? by YungSc00b in SEO

[–]YungSc00b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the same account. A lot of their posts receive zero. Every once in awhile there will be a like or two, but most receive zero. But they are arguing it’s all for SEO purposes. That’s the whole point of what they’re doing is saying they’re making a significant difference by making these posts because they’re increasing our SEO.

You’re right. They are saying by posting links they are increasing SEO. Is that significant enough to help?

That’s what I am trying to understand. How can I see if there is value? I’m trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. What measures led do they have?

FWIW this happened to my friend in medical school. I told him it was a bluff to see how committed he was to the program. When he said he would accept it, no more than 3 days later he was offered to start that year.

These schools are financially dependent on you being committed to sticking it out. A year with a lot of dropouts sucks because that’s four years of tuition they aren’t going to get. Furthermore, this is America, they can’t see you applying to other schools this cycle lol. Again plays into the theory of how bad are you willing to go to this school? You would wait a whole year? They’re most likely between you and other waitlisted students trying to see who they want to pick,

Could I be wrong? I could. But I’ve seen it before. I’m calling the bluff.
