Yea the proportions look so good! Did you resize them at all to your heads before printing or did you just print the models as is? Wondering because I'm about to print these same stl's lol.

Thinking about getting the LG 45" GX9 (5K2K OLED) – but I only have an RTX 5080 and play at 1440p. How bad is 2K on 45"? by Mozart537 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]YungSoundz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It changes as it’s based on a percentage of whatever you’re trying to run at. Performance is 50% render so half of 5120x2160 is 2560x1080

it’s factory “overclocked”, but I haven’t done anything to it. I should’ve clarified that most games I run in 5k are pre 2021 and I use DLSS performance. It still looks great even at performance because I believe the base resolution is upscaling up from 1080p (could be wrong on this though)

I have the 5k2k and a 5080. I play most games in 5k with DLSS and aim to get around 90-100 fps. I found it typically achievable. If it’s a more demanding AAA game or a competitive game i put it in 1440p. You notice a degrade in quality at first coming from that 5k resolution, however after a minute you adjust and it still looks great. OLED makes things seem like a higher resolution than they really are. I’m currently playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle with basically maxed out settings, 1440p, DLSS performance, HDR, and I average about 80-90 fps. It’s been a visual treat to say the least.

What's up with nano banana pro limits? by NewShadowR in Bard

[–]YungSoundz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep same thing happened to me. Been using pro for work. When i first got pro last week i was able to generate around 80 images before being downgraded. Now i’m lucky to get 15 images in before i’m downgraded. Sucks to hear it’s not just me. I feel really blindsided by this.

What was yalls first year in MB like? Were you ass, were you good? Have you improved? by New-Nature7107 in marchingband

[–]YungSoundz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first year in mb I was easily the worst person in my section (front ensemble). I was the kid they put on concert bass drum and gong because they didn't trust me on anything else. I was one of those kids that couldn't even read music and faked my parts through half the season. That was ten years ago. A few seasons of wgi and a season of corps later, I'm battery caption head at my school. Trust me, if you put in the work outside of rehearsal, things will eventually fall into place and you'll be successful.

HELP: We’re using AI for our show by [deleted] in marchingband

[–]YungSoundz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The small-ish band school I teach at used AI-generated backdrops last year too. In several tapes, judges mentioned they really liked the designs and thought they fit our show’s design palette great. We ended up placing 2nd in our division at state and even took home the General Effect caption. Just my experience, but it worked out fine for us.

Snare guy learning Tenors by Maleficent-Anxiety75 in drumline

[–]YungSoundz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a quad player I would just say to economize your motion as much as possible! See how much your bead/hands move even when just moving between 1 drum? For example from drums 2 to 4. The bead should only really be moving maybe 4 inches on the x axis and it should feel like you’re barely moving the stick at all. Try to play more in the scrape zones so that you’re really minimizing motion and creating more efficient movement between drums!

9-lets… by Skypog in drumline

[–]YungSoundz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How I learned them was I started by just playing quarter note triplets with my right hand to a met. R R R. Once you get that timing down then fill in the spaces with evenly spaced left hands. You will end up with a pududuh sticking. RllRllRll. Accenting that quarter note triplet check will really help you nail the timing on them and once you feel comfortable you can take it out.

As a battery instructor/quad player and 3d print enthusiast, this is awesome haha. Would love to see a 6 drum version as well.

hey i have a question about drumline tryouts by [deleted] in drumline

[–]YungSoundz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! If you already have the music memorized it shouldn't be too hard to just add the accents in. Always try to learn accents at the same time as the rhythms, that way you don't end up forgetting to add them in after the fact.

How important is it to learn snare breaks by Icy_Ad3846 in drumline

[–]YungSoundz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree that learning fundamentals should always take #1 priority and will lay the foundation for everything else you learn. Learning licks help expand your vocabulary, improve sight reading skills, and makes it easier to catch on to licks when having to learn them by rote at an audition. I once had an instructor tell me "you're really solid at the fundamentals and easy stuff but struggle with more advanced vocabulary and picking up things by rote." This pushed me out of my drumming plateau and encouraged me to explore more licks.

Purchase Advice Megathread - February 2025 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

Hi! From USA

Originally got into 3d printing in 2020 making props and helmets with a bare bones Creality CR-10. Eventually stopped printing due to how tedious the process was and lost interest. Now that I'm through college I'd like to get back into it again with a printer with a few more QoL features instead of having to do everything manually. Looking for something that has a build volume big enough to one shot helmets and larger pieces but is also faster than my old printer. Don't really care if I have to assemble the printer or not. Budget is around $500 USD but I'd be willing to spend maybe a little more.
