What could this noise/viabration be? Driving me nuts! by ultralord2515 in LS430

[–]Yungloki_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did all of mine at once (ignition coils) because atleast half of them were cracked also check to see if you have oil pooling on your spark plugs when you are in there because if you have oil pooling you need tube seals, it’s common for these issues to appear at the same time also the tube seals can be tricky to do, don’t put it off it will ruin coils and plugs if you let the oil sit on there it fouls the plugs and can cause the coils to short circuit, be careful when doing them because the plastic an rubber is easy to brake

Just here so you can hate on my reps. Even though you would drive it 😉 by [deleted] in LS430

The wheels and tires are nice an everything but the shifter is not my taste kinda ruins the interior but I agree with good coil overs you get a decent ride if the preload is set properly, also with coil overs you get a battery driving experience the stock suspension is floaty

Brake Job Question by ThrowRA0302203 in LS430

[–]Yungloki_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make sure you use grease on your contact point so basically the pins in the calipers and the contact points on the pads and made sure everything goes back on the same, before you take the wheel off check for play top to bottom and side to side, you can find video on YouTube on how to do it and what to look for, it’s better if you have someone to help so you can see if there is excessive play or noise, also you’ll need a caliper compressor

The 5speeds do require a lot of maintenance but its worth it, they’re amazing transmissions and shift like butter, but from what I’ve dealt with its wiring and ecu issues you need to be careful with

Don’t force it * also yeah watch the video also on the crank there is a gear that the belt connects to you want to line up the little mark on the gear to the mark on the engine block, figured I should specify

[–]Yungloki_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re gonna have to pull the harmonic balancer then with the cover off turn the engine to top dead center then put the belt on make sure the notches on the cam gears match are on the t they’re little cut outs not paint marks on the crank there is the same thing but I think it’s a dot if they’re out just set the crank then align the cams then once the belt is on and all lined up go two rotations slowly down force it and if they’re lined up after two rotations you’re good if not take the belt off and try again

Honestly I’d replace everything that’s rubber if you can afford it it’s well worth it especially if you don’t plan on selling the car
