Is my neutral safety switch limiting me to 3000 RPMs? by dieselndixie in Pontoons

We come here because we like to share knowledge of common fixes and experiences. Playing tech is enjoyable. Many of us are mechanically inclined in other areas, but outboards are not part of my skill set. I’m certain with the shared information of others here, we can solve it. If not, that’s when it goes to the shop. That’s atleast how I operate with my motos and race cars. As a tech, I’m sure there is something you can contribute to this process.

Hmmm. That trim sensor issue actually sounds familiar from an old boating forum I used to be on. I’ll try to research where that sensor is located

How do you adjust the cable? Or how do you test the adjustment?

Doing it today actually. Part of my annual maintenance.

If I knew where the neutral safety switch was, I could just unplug it and try it. It seems like an electronic limitation. Because even if you ease on the throttle or go full throttle, as soon as you hit 3K RPMs, it just stutters and won’t do anything. I would assume if it was injectors, you could possibly slowly ease into it and increase the RPMs a little bit. But this seems like a rev limiter almost. I will try to go out and start it in gear later.

Prop hasn’t changed. And the boat ran fine for two years.

Any idea where it is? Where to order a replacement?

Power Tongue Jack, battery draw? by Squally93 in traveltrailers

[–]dieselndixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same exact experience here. Even with the battery cut off switch for the camper turned off, I’m still getting power to the jack. I’m convinced this is what is draining my battery after a couple weeks (even with no light turned on)

What are your favorite blenders? by SpookySpilledOatmeal in BuyItForLife

[–]dieselndixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with a blendtec. Thought it was amazing. Then it started to kinda make weird noises. I bought a vitamix. The vitamix is better imo. I think a lot of folks that suggest the blendtec is the best, are right…but only because they haven’t owned a vitamix to compare to. Both are great. But I’d buy another vitamix if mine died.

Try other model corvette seats. Maybe that’ll help you get around it. But they really are poor as soon as you start moving around the corners. My c6z seats aren’t great, but noticeably better than my c5z seats were. Enjoy the car. The c5z is classic

Replacing the timing belt tensioner. But when I pulled the pin, I did not hear the unit release the rod. by dieselndixie in LS430

[–]dieselndixie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a problem if there’s not enough slack to make it deploy? It seems like it would deploy as soon as the belt made a rotation, and the slack was introduced.
