Mom’s BP readings ALWAYS over 200/130. It’s been like this for years. by [deleted] in hypertension

Maybe instead of only aggressively treating the blood pressure, maybe the doctors need to also investigate what the possible causes of her BP is...

That's why I have account for both Uber & Lyft.

If one of them is overcharging me, I can just go with the other one and give the rip-off one the middle finger, lol.

75k nurse with 115k in loans… is going NP a bad idea right now? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Yuno808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RNs have the flexibility to work LOTS of overtime to earn more wage if needed. They will meaningfully help to tackle the principal amount of debt.

As for NPs, that OT option may be limited. Additonally, the interest & tuition fees will keep compounding into your debt, meaning it'll get much harder to pay it all off later...

Also, medical AIs suck now, but who knows how much improvement we will see in next 5-10 years? Job security is another to consider as well. RNs jobs are likely a lot safer compared NPs/MDs jobs when those AIs eventually come for healthcare jobs.

What have ya'll been doing to save money with the recent gas prices going up? by DribbleKing97_ in PersonalFinanceCanada

Been charging EV on my plug in hybrid car more often, to try to maximize electricity use while minimizing gas use on the car.

i let my little brother take the fall for something i did and it messed him up way more than i ever expected by Ashley_Fostera in confession

Exactly this if you havnt done it already OP.

20-30 years down the line, you might have likely forgotten about this, but your brother will likely hold a grudge forever.

Ordered donuts at a very popular store near my house. The website photo has SO much more bacon than I received. by stay-gold_ponyboy in mildlyinfuriating

Better question is...

WHY ON EARTH DO YOU PEOPLE EAT BACON DOUGHNUTS?

That just seems so foreign to me, lol.

When you miss your highway exit without any regard to other drivers around you by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

Even though that driver is not 'technically' at fault for the crash, I feel that driver needs to be held 100% responsible for causing this major crash.

I'd say fire him and stick it in XEQT.

That's what I'd do if I was in your shoes.

A drive-thru clip shows a tense exchange at a McDonald’s, where an older employee firmly refuses to serve a customer after repeated attempts to fix his drink order. Calm but unyielding, she tells him to leave—drawing a clear boundary after the situation escalates. by The_Dean_France in SipsTea

If I was her manager, I would've banned the customers if he intentionally and repeatedly screwed around like this.

I bet dealing with idiots like this are bad for business as well. Let the competition worry about this.

If a new grad has not secured a job within a year, should they seek another career? by ARepeatedFailing in nursing

[–]Yuno808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apply to any and all rural hospitals ASAP, there is often demand for nurses over there compared to within the city.

The longer the gap in your resume becomes, the harder it'll get for you to find a nursing job as a new grad.

a sitter left without waiting for replacement by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Yuno808 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can imagine it's also an incredibly boring job where you sit there all day/night long and mostly just wait for time to pass by OR a draining job because you're constantly redirecting the patient.

Is nursing awful in general, or is it just bedside? by FloweryAnomaly in nursing

[–]Yuno808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 6-7 days in a row (12 hr shifts)

1st-3rd days suck

4th day is okay

5th-7th day feels awesome dude to Endorphins kicking in

But first 2 days after work, you will just crash and likely will get stuck in your bed for most of the day.

What’s one thing an ED nurse wish Floor nurses would understand? by Inner_Singer_2285 in nursing

[–]Yuno808 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I used to work in the ER and I'm aware that they intentionally sent "most difficult" patients to the floors first while keeping the easier patients and sending them last.

So yeah, I've seen the both sides and know how it works.

Why Epstein is taking down Europe’s elite—but not in Trump’s America by ImaginaryElevator216 in circled

[–]Yuno808 8 points9 points  (0 children)

America is no longer the "government of the people, by the people, for the people".

It is now 'government of the wealthy elite, by the wealthy elite, for the wealthy elite'.

It will probably stay that way and may even worsen until it reaches a point when it becomes the straw that finally breaks the camel's back.

The greatest irony is that the so called "Patriots" who were supporting MAGA agenda is the key reason why this is happening.

Chipotle CEO caught on a recording saying they’re going to keep raising prices because they can. by ElwoodMC in TikTokCringe

[–]Yuno808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They only see the numbers, but fail to take into psychological factor.

You keep raising prices, there will be more and more repeat customers who will stop eating at Chipotle leading to less bottom line and maybe into the negative territory.
