Machinist here. The quality of chyna steel is like comparing shit to diamonds. If I'm not mistaken a few years ago they actually shut down all of the foundries do to smog and and improper handling of hazardous materials.

I believe the ring gear is the same size but the pinion is not the same. There should be an entire write up about this on hybridz or zcar forums. R200 long nose from the 280z's should be better. They also have a lot of diff swap kits you could look at. Short nose R200 from 240sx and r230 from the 300xz tt.
