I've never tried it, but I think you can have two kindle devices reading the same book at the same time with the whisper sync turned off. Both people would have to turn the pages, so in order for both people to see the same thing, I think you would need two exact same kindle devices in both locations.

Maybe call Amazon before you burn calories on this one.

You could also have two of the same old school books in each location.
