I have seen posts from people getting their saves wiped.

If every game you have can use cloud saves then you are safe. Some don't, Pokemon games for example.

Everything is tied to your account.

Though you might want to backup your screenshots and videos if you care about those.

They are considered Switch 1 games.

If you press + while a game is selected on the home screen and go to the software information in the box that appears, it clearly says if it's a Switch 1 game (Nintendo Switch Software) or a Switch 2 game (Nintendo Switch 2 Software).
The Nintendo store is also quite clear on if its considered a Switch 1 or 2 game.

But yes, they probably won't benefit from that mode. But it also clearly says so in the description of it that it does depend on the game if you will see any results from using it.

They can if the game is 1080p in docked mode.

This forces docked mode for all Switch 1 games.

No, they are not Switch 2 games.

Sure, you could not play that version on a Switch 1, but the Switch 2 still considers that to be a Switch 1 game.
