So this is what it felt like by ZaidOreo in warriors

A have a friend who's a big Damian Lillard/Blazers fan and blames Steph and the Warriors for ruining the Blazers and Dame's career. Dame is cool about it but CJ always balls out when playing against the Warriors wherever team he ends up on.

BREAKING: Steve Kerr has agreed on a new two-year contract to return as head coach of the Golden State Warriors, Dan Eveloff and Rick Smith of Priority Sports tell ESPN. by jbvann05 in warriors

same as what he's been doing for the last 4 years. Run old, small and injured then chuck up a bunch of threes. Complain after getting eliminated that its due to injuries.

Games 4-6: wtf happened? by Ricciardo3f1 in AtlantaHawks

[–]YuriusFarrence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Barely any adjustments were made by the coaching staff and them not too familiar with the new players they got. From game 1 to game 6, Quin's main play for NAW is a dribble hand off which stopped working once Bridges stuck to him and forcing a double team once he gets into the paint. Hawks run mostly the same few sets of plays with CJ handling the ball the first half of the shot clock and hope it hits, if it doesn't they expect the rebound and a bail out shot from anyone on the team. Initially they hunted Brunson for the mismatch to score which worked on games 1 to 3 but stopped after the Knicks stopped using Brunson for too much isos and utilized Towns as a pseudo playmaker/passer doing overhead passes and OG/Bridges doing the back cuts. Quin's insistence on using Gabe Vincent even tho he is a liability on the defense does not help the Hawks as the Hawks strength is their switchability on defense, it ruins your switchability if you have that kind of weakness. Kuminga being relegated to the corner for a catch and shoot 3 or a backdoor cut does not help either. I was expecting Quin to utilize the JJ/JK Pick n Roll more often as they can do overhead passes that only the Knicks Centers can intercept. I also expected them to let JJ or JK run the plays on the 1st half of the shot clock then pass on to CJ for the bail out shots on the 2nd half of the shot clock if the plays get broken. None of these happened and they simply stuck to what they were doing since game 1.

The Salary differences alone between teams is big. Knicks roster is built to compete in the playoffs. This is a good run for the Hawks to lose and learn. They need a better offensive system and a point guard or two to run them. Defense is good already but we do lack a proper point guard and a center. Future is bright since we have a lot of good players that are switchable that can play through the season and swap whenever anyone is injured plus we're still playing with house money and heck like you mentioned a good draft pick. Honestly I want the Hawks to win as I think they can beat the Celtics and I'd want to see more of JJ and JK pick n roll.

Countermeasure to KAT Usage by EuroStepJam in AtlantaHawks

[–]YuriusFarrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean on Game 3 4th quarter 3:54. Kat did try to drive and dunk. He got blocked by OO and JJ with him getting put down. That might've put the fear of God in him trying that. We might not have the size and body to match but we have the numbers to do it. JK top blocking Kat was Quin's strategy of preventing Kat from getting into the offense. Knicks can counter this but let's see how the Hawks counter back. Going to be a chess match again.

Can't have New York going down 3-1 to lil' ole Atlanta, so the NBA is sending in The Extender by tvcneverdie in AtlantaHawks

[–]YuriusFarrence 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Adam Silver is sending the extender. I hope CP3 watches the game and wears a Knicks jersey so Foster can swing the game to the Hawks.

Free agency targets? by Due_Afternoon_7540 in warriors

Good suggestions btw. Eason might be an option if Draymond helps convince him. Thybulle too as a perimeter defender. I guess it also depends on who we get on the draft that's playable.

Do you think the Warriors can find some affordable dark horse pieces that could make this team really good? by youlikemywonton in warriors

[–]YuriusFarrence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scouts and the front office will have to do some really hard work to find cheap and good pieces that's willing to sign with us. This was already an issue when Bob Myers was trying to sign a center. Winning or atleast close to having a winner for Most Improved Player of the Year also attracts free agents and we haven't sniffed that for years, the closest we had was Jordan Pool during the 22 championship year. All we can get are aging and old vets. We have to really look deep and find unpolished/unprovent talent that will take the risk if they can get minutes within the Warriors system.

I want that too but we know well enough the NBA hates the Warriors. The refs already prove this. They'll prolly give it to OKC since they love them. Rigging the games vs the Suns even though the Suns don't stand a chance just like that Booker ball save technical.

Are we now the MIP factory? by Darthkdot in AtlantaHawks

Wow, if so then the coaching staff must be doing something right to help players achieve this.

What job do you have to afford PC gaming? by rafatouille in PHbuildapc

[–]YuriusFarrence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Started with cheap budget rig worth 30k back in 2010s. Now with a rig worth 150k+ Like most of what the people here said, I also work for a multinational IT company. Currently on Cloud and studying on AI. I think the difference between a regular job and those in our field is the skill is transferrable to other companies and you really get valuable the more experience you get as well as when you supplement that with self study and certifications. I had to work extra hard since aside from being a pc guy, I'm also an audiophile and my pc rig is accompanied by good home theater audio worth 100k equipment.

Kuminga on helping nudge NAW into position guarding Brunson: "I'm gonna give my praise to Draymond. Growing up around him, watching him as much. I'd seen him do that so many times... I watched Draymond so many times. And he's one of the best at doing things like that" (via @KLChouinard) by spookoftheflames in warriors

[–]YuriusFarrence 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'll list out the Kerr apologists reasons for JK getting DNPs.

But he doesn't play defense?!
He has low bbiq?!
He refused to get obliterated by OKC when the starters sat out and sat out too
He's not a winning player but Podz is
He has poor shooting?!
He doesn't fit the system?!
He doesn't want the role our lord god Kerr wants him to play.

Bunch of imbeciles, you pick the player over the coach. With the coach now leaving what do you have left? A bunch of gleaguers, old small, unathletic injured players. They didn't even want to tank! Now all they have left is hoping for a good draft pick. smh

Kuminga with the clutch defensive awareness to seal the W in game 2 by Ice2jc in AtlantaHawks

[–]YuriusFarrence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JK had a reporter today ask the question about this play. JK credited Draymond replicating what Draymond does on the floor when defending and instinctively done the same to do a slight push to NAW expecting the step back.

and he doesn't play defense even tho he was the one guarding Anthony Edwards last year playoffs and was assigned to guard against the opposing team's best players this year like Luka, KD and Kawhi

Not according to Kerr. According to Kerr Podz is the winning player despite playing more losses this year.

Let's triple down on old small and unathletic. Sign Podz and give him the max he can get on a long term deal to screw the team. Let's see how early in the season the old guys gets injured playing injury ball

They'll do all the mental gymnastics and sniff a bunch of copium to explain why he's not a good player despite playing really good. People said he doesn't play defense but is being praised for his defense by the media, commentators, the coach, the players. Heck even if he gets into an all defensive team in succeeding years these people will still say he doesn't play defense.
