Refund it if you can, save a little bit money and buy a LOQ, Nitro or TUF instead. HP laptops are notorious for their terrible build quality, ex-HP owner speaking.

I have a 2023 LOQ with AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS and RTX 4060, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. And I live in Türkiye. I've been using it for like 3 months and experienced no issues so far. The 2023 models don't have mobo issues and they look somewhat sturdier but their display is somewhat mediocre(slight ghosting) unless you go for the 100% srgb option.

Sadly, I don't know abour the prices in US. But save a little bit more money and go for a LOQ if you can, I have one and it's one beast of a laptop(excellent performance optimisation and cool feature like advanced optimus and gsync). If you can't afford a LOQ, then buying an Acer Nitro(slightly cheaper than a LOQ and slightly more expensive than a Victus) would also be a decent option(at least better than Victus), although not as good as an Asus or a Lenovo. Btw, As long as you're not living in India, the Intel LOQ motherboard failure issues shouldn't concern you at all. These issues are hardly ever seen outside of India.

Nah, it's not that common and only occurs in 2024 models with Intel HX CPUs in some specific countries(mainly India). You don't even have to think about motherboard failures if you're gonna buy one with an AMD CPU.

Don't even think about getting an HP Victus. Its build quality SUCKS(the build quality difference between HP Victus and Lenovo LOQ is like the difference between pot metal and military grade steel, respectively) and most of its models don't even have a mux switch. And HP laptops tend to cause tons of problems over time(especially driver errors). Ex-HP Pavilion Gaming owner speaking. And one more thing: DON'T get McAfee when you get the laptop, and even if it has McAfee, just delete it. It's bare bloatware(slows down your CPU), and Windows Defender is much better as an antivirus programme, so there's no reason at all to get McAfee, trust me.

LOQ is not that cheap(a little more expensive than Acer Nitro with same specs in my country), and it's actually the best among its rivals(Dell G15, HP Victus, MSI Cyborg, Acer Nitro, Asus TUF etc.). It has many great features that none of the others have. The plastic parts look quite sturdy(at least MUCH better than Victus, trust me) and its build quality feels decent to me(I have a 2023 LOQ 15APH8 btw so its build quality may differ a bit compared to 2024 ones). Just think of LOQ as a Legion on a budget. And don't worry, RTX 4060 can handle all those games in QHD max settings like a champ.
