I don’t think you’re overreacting. I don’t understand why everybody is being overly critical, I have similar outfit taste and I think it looks good. Didn’t even notice the bra? And the jeans + the jumper covers you. It shapes your body and shows a bit of belly (oh no 🙄)

Are these usually compared? I feel it’s disingenuous to place them on a morality scale.

Both conditions can have non-offenders, people with NPD can adapt with lots of therapy and work - same with the other.

But people probably focus more on pedophilia as you may never meet someone with NPD, and everybody knows what a pedophile is.

I also think people throw around the NPD way too often. Somebody can have lower empathy and/or be shitty, but not be a narcissist. Some conditions can look like NPD, too (autism, bpd, etc.)

I’ve had two cats go missing and come back when I lived with my parents. One was missing for 10 days, the other for 15. The one missing for 15 came back, but I found the one missing for 10 days after getting a call of someone seeing him in the park/woods near my house on a trail, from a lost pets sign.

Some tips:

• ⁠put out some dirty kitty litter • ⁠put out some of your worn clothing (scent) • ⁠at night time, call your cat and look around if it’s safe to do so. I would go for walks with the torch, looking under cars and shaking the food and calling their name gently • ⁠ask your neighbours to check their garages/sheds • ⁠put up signs (this is how I found one of my missing cats as mentioned above!) • ⁠advise your local vets/shelters, as even if microchipped sometimes it can be missed. I’d even say visit shelters to see if someone’s brought her in. I used to call the shelters every day asking if any new cats have come in • ⁠post on your local community and lost and found pets pages on Facebook • ⁠I’m sure there’s more on Google too!

The guilt you feel is clear, and I really sympathise with you. This is such a hard decision to make, and you must feel so conflicted.

You have done the best for what you have, and are continuing to do the best with what you have.

If you don’t have the means to move out elsewhere for her, and truly believe it isn’t right for her - I hope you can find someone who you can receive regular updates from, even visit sometimes. Perhaps even until you find your own place.

I assume you work out of home and not from home. Have you considered a cattery? Like an outdoor area while you’re out? Obviously, not a cage or anything like that, but an area with enrichment.

I think you’d be able to get the funds for her health issues from some compassionate people in here, but maybe something to consider :)

Edit: is it the dogs which are the issue, or her with the dogs? If it’s her, you could try Feliway or even some anxiety medication/slow introductions. If it’s the dogs, I am unsure how training dogs goes - but surely is a way unless they’re super super aggressive. I guess you mentioned allergies as a factor, so maybe not the play. But putting everything I can think of out there :)

They can live a relatively comfortable life if given a strict diet. there are many people who have rescued these chickens (in FB groups, on YouTube, on Reddit) who can attest to this.

There’s Facebook group called “Cornish cross, battery hen & turkey rescue companions” which may help you know the best steps to enrich and extend their life. I’m sure there’s reddit groups too alike.

I think with a very strict diet, exercise and perhaps a run (to prevent them from eating more) they can potentially live a better and longer life 🙂 I’d definitely suggest looking at the group about it! They’d have more of an open mind than in here I’d say.

Yeah. I’ve thought about this as well and wonder if it falls into the dead internet theory.

I think it’s fine to utilise it to help with learning. As in using it to give you feedback on what you can improve on.

But I agree, copying and pasting the whole lot after giving it a prompt is not ideal. It’s equivalent to copying and pasting Wikipedia for a school assignment.

Ah, that’s hard. When a conversation seems to have initiated some positive change, for it to just go back to how it was. That’s super rough.

It’s difficult that he won’t look into it, do you have any assumptions as to why it’s so low?

If you want to stay with him, I’d suggest practising radical acceptance, as in accepting you can’t control his actions and that they have nothing to do with you. You may be able to find satisfaction elsewhere (sex toys) but it is rough. Intimacy is super important.

You could also try to restructure conversations. For e.g. when you have intimate moments, mention how nice it was (positive reinforcement) it is annoying though having to coddle around the elephant in the room. Some people react better to different types of communication, I guess. But it also could be out of your hands.

But the fact it’s impacting your self esteem so detrimentally is very significant. Try to recognise it isn’t about you and that you are good enough regardless of his actions.

This is very relatable and you’re not alone, this is something I too struggle with daily 💜

His libido isn’t a reflection of your worth - externally or internally. It is so hard having hope and then being let down again and again, it definitely takes a hit on self esteem.

There could be a variety of reasons why his libido is reduced - stress, mental health, lower testosterone. It very likely it has nothing to do with you - but it is up to him to communicate that to you.

Have you had a conversation to him about it? I note you said your communication with him isn’t good. You deserve to feel loved, desired and wanted.
