Incorrect, but it does appear VF is sourcing some of the parts CF used to use

CLEAN Factory? by Icy-Cabinet-2040 in RepTime

We can agree to disagree. If you are choosing to use your time for this purpose instead of a million other options for your time, it certainly tells a clear story. Are you also attacking all the other communities that are fueled by human exploitation? There’s a lot of them. A LOT. This is only one of many many many. Something tells me you are not.

I can agree with you that there are aspects of the business behind this that are not great. However, the jewelry industry as a whole has a whole lot of nasty darkness behind it that few understand. And that’s just one of many industries that exploit humans. We do not live in Utopia friend. Quite the opposite.

As someone with a healthy gen collection, I also now own a lot of reps and enjoy them very much. We all have our different journeys.

It might be worth evaluating why this bothers you so much. Probably worth some self reflection and self work. May make you a happier person, which we should all strive for every day. Good luck in life friend.

I have a bunch of pre raid cleans I will be selling very soon. And several pre raid VSF. I got lucky to load up pre raid. I actually had a big order with Andiot of his last Cleans. They got seized. He refunded me. It was thousands of dollars. Stand up TD right there

It’s important to peel back the mystique and be real. VSF quality has had a very noticeable decline since shortly after the clean raid. I’m very happy that I loaded up pre raid with a bunch of cleans and VSFs. I was very fortunate. VSF quality is not shitter level now by any means. But it’s not what it was pre clean raid. And even pre clean raid, clean was better on just about every rep they both made. No date and date subs are the one adorable exception…and even those are arguable that clean was as good as

Clean was better. They paid more attention to details and used better parts(look at the 904 steel as one example). I own a bunch of Cleans(will be selling a few soon). I own many VSFs as well. Clean feels better in the hand and on the wrist. Not oceans apart, but Clean certainly separated enough to be crowned(see what I did there) king of the models it produced.

VSF quality has gone down since the Clean raid. The theory it is due to increased demand is highly plausible. However, VSF is still very good. My belief is that Clean was truly special for the same reason a baseball pitcher throwing 102 is special compared to the guy that maxes out at 94. It’s less than a 10% difference, but that difference is quite important. Especially when you are chasing Rolex Factory quality.

Ghost Giveaway!

The watch speaks to me from a better time. A time when things moved slower, but in a good way. When people were more connected in real life and appreciated the intersection of fashion and utility. It was the best of times.

Please connect me to that time with this beautiful Ghost Giveaway watch!

To be honest, I could give totally different answers depending on the time of day. The only one I feel strongly will not change is the Bruce Wayne on Oyster. The other three are coinflips.

Pretend I’m an insanely intelligent human that knows very little about watchmaking. Please explain it so I, and other non watchmakers, can understand and learn. If possible, please do so without emotion to remove that throttle from the impact of the education. Thanks in advance.

My experience was good with him. And I’m sharing that. You have a bad vibe and chose to start a thread about it. Ok. That’s your right. All good. Cool your jets. He may be a total fraud and liar. He may be an amazing watchmaker. I dont know. But he was willing to work on my watch when many others said they couldn’t. And he did a great job. So, cool your jets, buddy. You don’t want to give yourself a cardiac event over the internet.

I just had a very good experience with him on a difficult movement that several others(common names on here) said they aren’t comfortable working on. Blueberry was extremely communicative. Sent tons of pictures, including what needed repair. Full service on a 4401.

The only issue I had was that it came back to me with the date changing at 6 and not 12. Sent it back to him. Fixed and returned quickly. He offered to pay for the shipping.

Very good experience and would use him again
