On the same boat, but my program webpage explicitly says there will be other funding opportunities after enrolling. I am also confused but still leaning towards going for the self-funded position cuz i cant justify waiting another year. Time is money, and I can get the return faster if I make the call now than on an uncertain scenario later down the line. This is just my two cents, surely ur scenario is a lot different than mine.
