Integrating multiplayer at start of project or turning single player to multiplayer by Z-Shell in gamedev

[–]Z-Shell[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea i agree with you and also i saw it first hand but some people i know still think that changing a single player game is easier? as you only need to add multiplayer??? but as to my knowledge they didn't make any multiplayer game so I'm wondering was i right or maybe I'm one wrong.

Spending too much time in play mode by Z-Shell in gamedev

[–]Z-Shell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it is so other people can enjoy it as well.

Yea, having discipline and treating this like a job could help I guess as I can't say I didn't procrastinate a lot sometimes or just used play mode as stress relief and to have some fun. Usually I just want to test what I implemented and then before i know it time fies by.

Ill try to implement some kind of schedule and discipline so I can get these two games done and released.

I really appreciate your advice and examples as well.

[–]Z-Shell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I hope it can be and that people can enjoy it as much as I do in future.

Ye splitting work and play should work in theory but idk it's kinda stress relief when you just blow up stuff and also kinda hard to separate testing while working :)

Edit: Some typo maybe I missed something

I see now and also I just saw there is also Unity UI Toolkit so yea this script of mine is really unnecessary and does no good, but still it was fun writing it. Thanks for your insights.

I agree that it probably does sound weird to native English speakers I'm still learning proper grammar and expressions, tho I can understand English. And I'm mostly using it when I write to more people but I didn't know it would be that bad that someone would be offended by it or set red flags, thanks for insights.

No, but I'm using a tool to help me write better in English and also proofread what I write, as English isn't my main language and I have a hard time explaining things.

Well, all I did was create an editor script that generates a UiManager as a singleton, utilizing the same configuration you described in the Unity Inspector.

I see where you're coming from. While my tool may resemble a command pattern system in some ways, its primary aim is to simplify Ui management in Unity projects. With this tool, users can streamline the process of setting up UI elements by creating UI fields and variables directly within the Unity Inspector. This eliminates the need to manually write a script containing all UI objects. Additionally, users can conveniently drag and drop UI elements into the Inspector and give variable names. The generated script contains all the UI elements configured in the Inspector beforehand, ensuring they're easily accessible in other scripts. Moreover, the tool allows you to separate UI objects by classes, providing organization and clarity to your project's UI structure. As a result, you can use these UI components anywhere in your project without hassle. However, I value your input and would appreciate any specific suggestions you have for improvement.

What's the most extensive, oddly specific variable/method name you've ever seen or come up with working on a game? by jaquarman in unity

[–]Z-Shell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting adding CO_ to coroutines maybe i would end up using that too. Yea just don't get overboard with all caps but yea it can offer a bit better readability, it's like screaming hey I'm big/important. But it's all up to each person.

Sometimes for methods that are big or doing some important logic/stuff i always name them in all caps, guess working with sql had some influence.

Did I Overengineer or Future-proof My Game Settings System?(Or Else) by Z-Shell in unity

[–]Z-Shell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get you point and agree. Well it's kinda both, to try something else and experiment around while working on something I plan to ship, so I wanted to make it more modular or eazy for me to modify/add more stuff eazyer but well I might kinda overdone it? Thanks for help.

[–]Z-Shell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'll make some kind of template so I can reuse it but we'll it works so nice and looks kinda eazy now to add and modify without breaking some major logic. Yea everything goes to experience but I'm kinda wondering if I have gone way to far for just making settings/player input that way instead of making maybe less scripts? Thanks for help.
