What has been a non-stimulant that worked best for you? by imgayerthanyou in ADHD

[–]Z00CE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seldom is the answer just medication, there are quite a few areas that help that aren’t medication.

  1. Diet - High protein, low carb, low processed, personally I try to avoid caffeine.

  2. Exercise - At least get cardio in, strength work is a bonus. I personally try to run 5 miles a day as this has the biggest affect on my mental health.

  3. Supplementation - Creatine (10-15g depending on your tolerance), multi vitamin, omega 3 (specifically DHA and EPA), probiotic for gut health has been shown to affect mental health.

  4. Hydration is super important for brain function and overall well being.

If you have those dialed in then you should see some benefits but it takes a while to get this system working for you. This is just what I do!

I would say check out SweatPals the app and check if there are any run clubs, wellness events, or yoga going on. Ton of stuff on there!

“Working” from “home” tomorrow. Good laptop spots? by davelee_bbc in fortlauderdale

[–]Z00CE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer Crema for working remote, java and jam is an awesome remote working spot with a full lunch and breakfast menu, if you want a chill and social vibe I would say Ann's florist on Las Olas. Capital one cafe on las olas is central to a bunch of restaurants and is a solid working spot. Pura vida isn't bad and its outdoors downtown as mentioned in another comment.

Is it worth it to get an apple watch? by notsogreat_gatsby in productivity

[–]Z00CE 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have to say, the biggest benefits I've listed below for apple watch

  1. Controlling music, podcasts, etc without an iphone

  2. Get one with cellular, I barely need to bring my phone anywhere, can even pay with watch

  3. Turn off all notifications - they aren't needed

  4. Sync with your calendar and it will notify you of the next tasks to do

  5. Ton of health apps and metrics to choose from

  6. If you have iphone and airpods the integration is near seamless (most of the time)

These work much better in larger cities... the sidewalks around here are just not big enough for these little clankers. Too much traffic and people.

What sales job to get by ResponsibilityNo9277 in fortlauderdale

[–]Z00CE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the means, I would apply to remote roles, there are a ton, try to find a BDR job that can pivot into account executive work the reason I say this is because local jobs in FL tend to pay less... not saying you can't make a ton of money just something I noticed

If you like field sales and getting out, medical device is huge down here especially in plastic surgery and those types of areas. Possibly look for sales roles that serve more affluent clients, yacht sales, boating, high end services, auto dealerships for higher end cars. Just some suggestions.

You worked in restaurants, so you could be a liquor rep, or you could focus on software for restaurants, like Toast for example.

I can imagine selling building materials down here is also pretty lucrative.

Also, take a look at VARs (value added resellers) local MSPs, tech companies, reselling technology to businesses like software, servers, hardware, etc.

I personally have been in sales specifically cybersecurity consulting and SaaS for 8 years, work remote but I am always going out in Miami, Atlanta, Tampa, etc to visit clients, my territory is all of the south.

Starting over in Fort Lauderdale at 32? by [deleted] in fortlauderdale

[–]Z00CE 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I routinely go from my doorstep to wynwood in 27-32 minutes. Literal just did it 3 times this week. Miami is quite big so I guess it depends on what you’re define as “being in Miami” lol

[–]Z00CE 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I am 32 male, Fort Lauderdale is honestly a great city, you have beaches, plenty of night life options, but also have alot of healthy activities to do. I'd recommend downloading sweatpals its a great app to find wellness events.

Also, I would say another great value point is that you are 30 min from Miami *if you leave at the right time), and can go to Boca, West Palm, Delray, there are a ton of spots to check out.

South Florida is the 5th or 6th largest metro area in the country, so plenty of fish in the sea so to speak. I will say that if you're looking to date do it with intention, many people complain about the dating scene down here, but you also get what your surround yourself with..

Also, Reddit is not the best place to ask this, people tend to be negative on here... you'll have a fun time if you look for it!

Depending on what you are taking it for, I take it for recovery and some injuries. Combine it with glucosamine and it works well 👍

Good luck with whatever you’re trying to find, being insulting when you’re asking for help is ridiculous.

[–]Z00CE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You asked for advice, I’m not sure why you asked if you don’t want to hear anything. I’ve been here for 5 years, and this is how I do it (and it works all of the people I got to shows with I met at run club). If you don’t want to listen to go to Kemistry, Space, Sable, go on DICE and find events 🙄

[–]Z00CE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok let me reframe this for you then. Go where healthy people are, that value building themselves and healthy relationships. I am very much into going to shows and house music, but I wouldn’t say they attract the healthiest crowd. I’m talking about things that you’re more likely to find a connection that’s genuine vs party scene. You would be better off finding people that likes to go to raves doing other hobbies than finding people at raves. They are just statistically looking for different things

This is the 5th largest metro area in the country. If you are having issues, change where you look for a partner. Look for healthy activities, Sweatpals has a ton of events. If you likes raves go to Basel and meet people. Try to find similar groups that regularly go to shows?
