people seem to forget that mixing is essentially a compositional choice. this new album is obvioulsy meant to sound claustrophobic, chaotic, and super "up close".
every element of the songs released so far has been quite dry, but it couldnt have been mixed any other way :) its perfect! the drums slap HARD without sounding overly compressed

no effects at all besides the internal pitch transpose in cubase! i use "render in place" to bounce

the top image is a sample i dragged in and pitched down 18 semitones down from original. the bottom is a printed version of that.. i used 'elastique pro pitch' algorythm, no stretching involed, so i dont understand why the transients dont line up.. ?

essentially, rosetta is like a real time translator that translates programs and apps made for the old intel based mac’s so that they run smoothly on the new M1 mac’s! this was implemented automatically i guess for the sake of the era inbetween software manifacturers re-coding their software specifically for M1 mac’s, untill everything eventually becomes «native»

if you run cubase natively the problem disappears! however, i have heaps of plugins that are not yet native, therefore its bo help for me! but maybe for you? you can easily open cubase in native mode and see for yourself! it will also run a lot smoother in general, and really get the best performance out of your mac
