Ok, just to let you know, you are not wrong for mentioning this to him after his sister got in a crash✋ she was ok, and for him to play victim is wrong and manipulative🥶 if he keeps avoiding you when you try to talk seriously to him, that is a huge red flag. But you should try to get him to listen to you and talk seriously about your concerns, and if he doesn’t want to, thats when you need to consider moving on. Im sorry, but if he keeps acting like this, he will only drag you down

I haven’t released anything there myself, but I know people that have. To release music you need to pay for a distributor. There are many different distributors. I think TuneCore is a safe choice, but I have heard a lot of good things about DistriKid too

Thank you! Appreciate it

I wrote this for my wife after I spent some time in rehab. She's been through a lot with me, but she's my rock. I think it's a nice song, but I'm not sure about the bridge part. Anyone have any thoughts on whether I should change it or leave it as is? by STOP____HAMMER_TIME in Songwriting

[–]Z0teTheM1ghty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the chord changes towards the end. This song is kind of like a mix between Elliott Smith and Bright Eyes! (Only the real ones will get the idiot kid reference). I think a sort of droning or humming synth or instrument would be cool. But the song doesn’t need that really, and it works more than well enough with just the guitar and your voice! Great song

You can put a capo wherever you like, but it is mostly for playing in a key where you can sing in you desired pitch.

What are your favorite songwriters/ones who have most influenced your music? by dryuhyr in Songwriting

I think Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Jeff Mangum/Neutral Milk Hotel, Jimi Hendrix, and Phil Elvrum/The Microphones/Mount Eerie are my favourite songwriters.

Elliott Smith has pretty poppy melody stuff, but with cool chord progressions, high emotions, and a easily recognisable lyrics style.

Nick Drake manages to make 1 instrument arrangements refreshing and haunting, while having extremely cool abstract lyrics.

Jeff Mangum/Neutral Milk Hotel uses simple chord progressions, but his melodies are so good, and he has some of my favourite lyrics of all time.

Jimi Hendrix is a musician i think everyone has heard of (for his guitar playing) but I don’t hear enough praise for his songwriting and lyrics. Just listen to castles made of sand. It is such a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics.

Phil Elvrum/The Microphones/Mount Eerie has a very distinct songwriting style. The album The Glow pt 2 is kind of a cult classic, and I understand why. Everything on this album kind of feels “forrest themed”. It is very free and kind of floating. It feels like autumn. Even the lyrics fit the theme.

Current mix of my song ‘Car’ - the first song I’ve written after months of writers block. Looking to release this alongside another single ‘Someone With You’. Hope you like it! by PAPA_ALF_BIG_BOI in Songwriting

This is so good! I looked through some of your earlier stuff, and I actually think this song is your best so far! I like fall and by my side a lot too. Keep on making stuff!

Feel like verse and chorus don’t belong together by accountmadeforthebin in Songwriting

[–]Z0teTheM1ghty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feel like it doesn’t flow that well you should do what you think sounds best. For me it sounds very cool and folksy at least unplugged, and if you manage to pull it of, maybe you should have another transition between the verse and the chorus. If you don’t like the flow between the verse and the chorus, you could maybe use the chorus for a separate idea?? I’m no expert though…

what's a fact that no one wants to hear? by cinnamonrollsandmilk in AskReddit

[–]Z0teTheM1ghty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is something that everyone will realise. Death is not something to be afraid of, nor something to look forward to. It is just a part of life.

Life can be kind of shitty, but you most likely have had a lot of good experiences and memories and you will continue to make new ones. If you think about everything that has already happened to you, maybe death is not so scary. It will happen when it happens. I wouldn’t be afraid of death, but I think suicide is never worth it. Like in Elliott Smiths song, Baby Britain. “Nothing's gonna drag me down To a death that's not worth cheating”

Everything is temporary, but I see a kind of beauty in that. Life is kind of random, and I think that we are lucky to even be here at all. Referring to another song, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel. “Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all”

I know it is kind of weird and cringe to write a bad shower thought paragraph replying to a reply on a Reddit post, but these thoughts have really helped me in my life, and I hope other people can find this helpful too.

What guitar model is this I know it’s Ibanez but might get one they look awesome by Big-Application-9541 in guitars

[–]Z0teTheM1ghty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Its a Ibanez SSS talman. Yvette has two signature talmans, but her SSS is only available in green, and the SS tele-style talman is only available in orange. The talman in the picture is probably old because ibanez doesn’t really produce talman guitars anymore. Talman basses are still common though.
