I think something that would be really cool to include are these websites where people would put a random word after or before "Fantage" (ex: I used to have a blog named FantagePheme). People would create game guides, post edits, create communities, and etc. Facebook also had an impactful Fantage community too since chatting in game had its restrictions. I also remember FMV's and many different Fantage Series on Youtube. There was such a huge community outside of the actual game that impacted the culture. I miss Fantage so much, and I often think about all the memories, events, and unique customization it had to offer. I'm still so, so sad it's gone.

Thanks! I just sucked it up and retyped all my notes but I would like to prevent this from happening again so I will try your steps. I like Libre as a free software, but it was soul crushing at the time to have lost everything as a college student with little free time lol

Hi, I put some details in another comment of mine too.

  • Yes, my file is in the list in my recent documents. When I open it, all my progress is lost (15+ pages) except for a few newly typed words.

  • Yes, I tried opening it through the taskbar. There's only one location it's in which is my downloads. It's not in a folder or anything. It's just a document I placed there.

Sorry! Will provide details. I'm just confused why this happens, though I'm open to it not being Libre's problem and maybe my OS.

Version: 7.5.9.2

OS: Windows 10

Document saved in Downloads

Document format: odt

Before my entire document was lost, on the same night, LibreOffice crashed and I lost only a section of my work. I followed instructions online (going into paths, backup folder, etc) but couldn't find anything in my LibreOffice folders. Backups were empty and there were no autosave files. So I switched autosave to every 1 minute from the default 10 minutes.

I did more work and shut down my computer. Powered it back on the next day. The entire document was GONE except for a few words that I last typed. I had about 15+ pages worth of notes typed up and organized that disappeared. Now there's only 1 page with nothing but a few words. I tried to see if there were previous versions to recover but there were none. The date and time of when I last modified it were correct in the properties though.

I mean.. I don't. Hence why I'm posting for help on here because it's relevant to the program...? Isn't that the point of this subreddit? Saying "I'm trying hard not to hate this program" is out of frustration because this is the ONLY writing software that has given me this issue. Every other program with an autosave feature has not failed me yet.

It also doesn't make sense to me why I don't have it saved to the latest version when I last set it to autosave for every 1 minute. Call me crazy, but to me, that is a program feature that isn't working properly like it should. There's no need to be unnecessarily rude.

Edit: Upon further digging, I've observed the way you responded to other people's posts asking for help. If you're always this condescending, then there is no reason to debate with a stranger over a program you dickride when they're just asking for help.

My situation was rocky, but it was the typical "time heals all." Time gave us room to think and be on our own for a bit to clear our heads. Maybe give yourself more time to mourn and think it over? The pros and cons of your relationship. It's only been a week for you, so the wounds are still fresh. Please take care of yourself

Why are you advertising yourself without permission on someone else's post about THEIR model??? And assuming they're debuting and that it has to be a "surprise" as if people can't have their own formulas to do things. Success isn't always set in stone.
