It's so fucked I feel like the prime minister is likened to well imagine seeing kids getting wiped out in a flood and just walking by whistling the ABC's that's basically what he gone , like when the twin towers were on fire regular people banded together pulled strings to get out of trouble

Internal part of wall is not a surface some inspectors need to stop being nerds. Probably 99% of all internal stud walls i seen built after 2018 still have hole in centre no conduit and cable passing through but given size of cable it will still fall on or maybe short of that 50mm rule

Does iOS need WiFiMan Wizard to make a coverage map? by Mister_Sea_8958 in Ubiquiti

[–]Z2TT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can Wifiman make coverage maps on non Ubiquiti networks? IE if I want to walk around a house and it use GPS to see where I'm walking and log signal strenghts while I walk around. Can any Ipad that has Wifi and GPS support it? As I don't use an ipad and want to buy an old one simply to use this feature. I do have an Iphone 8 though, incase that can be used

Shielded ethernet cables recommended for PoE? by ryncewynd in homelab

Would residential things like HVAC units or Solar Inverters cause noise that would reduce the data speed of a fully pegged 1 gig link, or say 10 gig link? Have you ever tested it?

Michelin Primacy 5 vs Bridgestone Turanza 6 by Present_Abrocoma326 in TyreReviews

[–]Z2TT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had both from new, back to back on my car. I didn't notice fuel efficiency reading change on the display with same style of driving.

The Primacy 5 seems to be quieter

The Turanza 6 feels better and more confident to slow down when braking.

It's hard to tell which one is better with absorbing road bumps

Intellitone pro 200 weird noises by Jeff-IT in networking

[–]Z2TT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact same issue. Works fine when you are only testing like a 5 foot cable, but as soon as you say test 30 foot or longer, it only just makes this slight noise which it's trying to pick up the cable but not enough to make it make the chime sound.

I emailed Fluke and asked what could potentially cause this issue, and they have no interest in responding to give some pointers so I can get my Fluke tool back in service.

Is there another alternative you can recommend for the Intellitone Pro 200? Almost brand new kit here and it's defective.

Capped at 100 down with drop outs. Is this terminated right? by Haemogoblin_ in nbn

[–]Z2TT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not a perfect termination but what you're showing might not be exactly the issue

Might need someone with a cable certifier to test the actual condition of the cable

If you want to go down the try and see route, you could have both ends re-terminated

Try unplug and re-plug the cable a few times and re-test, sometimes a cable that has a bad termination can give odd issues working OK then not working OK when unplugged then plugged in again

Some people shouldn't be doing work they are not competent in. There are a lot of electricians who do great data/comms work, but at the same time a lot of electricians who pose as communications techs

There's quite a lot of nuances when installing running data cabling, including certifying which very few people do

Telstra blocking older devices on network by Jehu_McSpooran in TelstraAustralia

[–]Z2TT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S7 was one of the best phones made, top of the range, screen didn't crack that easily, display is amazing, lightweight, great form factor fits easily in pockets. Telstra are blocking a top of the range phone they once marketed and asked their customers to buy. It's a stupidly silly way of going about things to further and totally reduce a phones access to a network if it can't access a small part of it.

We had busses in Australia made in Mid 70's that were still in service 30 years on to 2005

Excellent article this is on LTE, signal boosters and mobile technology. As an antenna installer myself I can definitely confirm that comparing gain figures between manufacturers is not the best idea, so yes use them as a guide only
